I Just had mine installed and when I tried to input the right time,
seemed like the numbers were needed to be pushed really hard
in order to register. In fact the number "8" does not register at all.
I had to wait until past 9 to input the time.
All the other choices also were needed to be pushed really hard.
Is this normal for this model or is mine defective?

thanks.

I had read some reviews referring to how hard the glass control panel was to use, however, I have found it to be very sensitive and requiring very little pressure.
I don't think that it should require extreme pressure but consistent pressure. Having a problem with the numbers displaying sounds like a board issue which could probably be resolved by calling Samsung service.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty setting the time on your new ME21F707MJT. Our Samsung Microwave SMH9187S had to have it motherboard replaced twice now in less than 3 years due to known SE and 8888 errors, it now only runs a few seconds and stops. According to their own technical repair specialist it is a design problem with moisture which occurs when cooking food on the stove below the Samsung over-the-range Samsung Microwave SMH9187S units. (Very Expensive Issue for the consumer to continuely have to fix) see all the complaints with Samsung on the Internet regarding not fixing known design and potential safety issues. It appears Samsung discontinues its products once issues start to mount to avoid additional liability. It appears they like to use the customer as their product testing guinea pigs. Samsung just say it's now out of warranty and not our problem, call a Samsung authorized service company to have repairs made. This will be the last Samsung product we ever buy again. (that includes everything Samsung makes from refrigerators, oven, stoves washers, dryers, phones, tablets, TV,s, laptops, electronics, etc. an especially microwaves) When a company knowing refuses to stand behind its product, design and not fix defects the only course for consumers is to not trust or purchase any products from that company and warn all your friends and neighbors regarding of the companies business practices after the sale and they have got your money. Answer:
"SE" is the Key Short error code which can have different causes, so each case needs to be evaluated on an individual basis. If cycling the power by turning the circuit breaker off then on again to reset the Microwave doesn't resolve it, please contact 800-HOME DEPOT or 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Answer:
Hi Shoppers,
The ME21F707MJT requires one mounting bracket that is attached to the wall behind the Microwave as well as bolts that are installed through the cabinets above it. The bracket and bolts are included with the new unit, along with the mounting templates and instructions.
Thanks for your question,

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ABSOLUTE JUNK! This microwave made a horrible noise the first time it was demonstrated by the installer. It was operational for an entire day and a half before it completely died. While it worked for less than 2 days, in that time frame the buttons were extremely difficult to engage and it would only work if you had a muscular thumb. Dealing with Samsung has been an absolute nightmare. I have wasted hours on the phone trying to get a repair, exchange or refund. It has been a month and still waiting. Do not purchase this microwave, and unless you have hours to deal with the stress and frustration that stems from the Samsung company, choose a different brand!!! August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Micro Wave Oven The Home Depot delivery people installed the Micro Wave Oven, did a great job and were very polite, Thank you delivery team. I would buy my appliances just because of the service from the delivery team. August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy one of these!!! This microhood began to fail within the first year. The buttons are temperature sensors and they never worked well. They got progressively worse and more frustrating. Now the microwave pushes its own buttons in the morning as the kitchen warms up. There are a few buttons that don't work under any circumstance. I am a general contractor and have purchased 40 microhoods over the years. July 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor design The buttons on the bottom react to moisture and constantly have to dry glass as I cook. Repaired twice within two months.First it was relay, second time it was motherboard. If I knew mother board wouldnt work a week after I just had relay fixed, I would have dumped it. Already spent as much as I paid for item initially and have only owned it 15 months. August 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Samsung Microwave The microwave was easy to install and works well. I am looking forward to years of use. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Microwave Good. Looking with great feachers. Installation was fast and perfect July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sumsaung products are horrible I remodeled my kitchen last yr. I bought all Samsung product and now they are breaking down. My over the stove microwave that I bought a yr ago but didn't install until 4 months ago got the SE error and when I called Samsung warranty was out. The Samsung dishwasher model DOES NOT GET THE TOP RACK OR MIDDLE RACK DISHES CLEAN. The cold water on the refrigerator isn't cold (it's like cold tap water) and one of the door shelves cracked from just opening up the door. The Samsung front loader washer is horrible had to repair that 4 times in less than a yr. (it would lock for start of cycle then unlock and moan). I am in the process of switching everything out to Maytag.. So far the Maytag over the stove microwave has been great I love it. Samsung might make great phones, but that's all they can make. They need to just stick with what they know best and that's phones and let the real appliance makers keep making appliances like Maytag. I would recommend Maytag over Samsung any day. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product We have purchased this same microwave for our last two homes. Actually three because one was stolen from our house while it was on the market, so the thief must have really liked it! July 12, 2016
