Answer:
Yes. Digital readout tells temp up to your selection and notifies you that oven is ready. Set timer and and walk away. Signal lets you know when finished. also will turn oven off if preferred,if you are not going to be present.

Yes, it does. I've had it for just over a year and recently discovered you can also set it for (at least) two different consecutive times, which is convenient when cooking more than one thing at a time. Love this stove!

It doesn't resist fingerprints. I use a vinegar solution in a spray bottle with paper towels, and both the stainless and black top clean up easily.

Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but can help prevent fingerprints from recurring.

What you are thinking of is a model that's about $400 more and it will show the words :"TRUE CONVECTION" (caps intended that time!) I didn't look closely at it because I don't think it's worth $400 more, but I THINK there is an electric heating element around the fan that adds more hot air to the blowing process - rather than (I'm an airline pilot - so we call it a "RECIRC FAN" -- and I'm pretty sure that's what this model is. Just a recirc fan.
Oh wait - I just saw you asked this one year ago so I hope this helps SOMEONE! You probably got your answer by now.
Check both user manuals - you'll see the diff.

Answer:
If the question is what power source is used to create convection then it's electric because fan that creates that convection is certainly powered by electricity, not by gas. I don't think that it will be working when you don't have power in your house (electricity) but you still should be able to use stove by using regular matches.

Thanks for your interest. The NX58H5600SS Range uses gas to heat both the cook top and the oven. The oven also features a convection fan to help circulate the hot air.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent buy and product! I did some research before buying my Samsung 5.8 gas convection oven. I am very happy with it because it heats up much more quickly than my old oven and the heat is even. This allows me to bake more cookies at one time and not have to worry about the placement of the baking trays. I would highly recommend this product The delivery crew was top notch and I assembled it myself because I have propane. If you don't have propane and you have gas it is simply a matter of hooking up the line. Excellent buy and great product!!!! September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First New Oven Purchase in a Long Time My wife and I have not purchased a new over, ever. We did our research via websites and consumer reports and feel in love with this model after doing some physical sopping in stores. The main perks of this are the convection cooking/roasting, and the size/capacity. We've only used it to bake a few times, but can safely say this oven meets our expectations. I ran an initial test on the oven to make sure it kept it's heat constant, and on convection bake, the temperature started off right where I set it, but then dropped later on in cooking by about 15 degrees. Not a big deal considering our last oven would turn off randomly or always run 25-50 degrees below what we set it for. The number pad for entering in temperatures is great, and the two large burners comes in real handy. We've used the large middle grate as well and loved it, although this seems to be standard on all ovens now. We have noticed some scratching on the grates from our pans, but thing it may have to do with the fact that they are the hard anodized calpholon pans. They are the only ones that seem to do it. We're not sure if there is a finish on the grates that's meant to ear off or if we are truly ruining it. Also when you're baking, there is a noticeable high heat above the oven, even more so than our older oven we got rid of. I would just recommend that you don't keep anything on top of the oven that may melt or burn while you are baking. Still, we are giving this oven a 5 out of 5, simply because it blows our previous oven out of the water. One final comment, we bought our oven on 4th of July since the deals were unbelievable. We compared prices over many stores and sites and found that most had this oven on sale for the same price. The biggest different, though, is the installation and removal of your previous appliance. Home Depot knocked this one out of the park with a very cheap cost. Also, delivery was quick and efficient. I hope you found this helpful! August 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great range for the price! I really love this stove. The griddle is a great feature and the burners heat very fast. The only negative is the burners caps are a little difficult to clean May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice range - terrible support I have had this range for less than 1 week. I bought it because reviews are mostly good and so far I like it. I purchased it on sale and think it is a great range for the $. I called 1 hr. after delivery with 2 problems. Samsung support is poor. They try hard but are clueless about this product. The center burner grate had two missing rubber feet and the "lock" feature on the control panel fails to work properly most of the time. (I think this feature is important so when you are cleaning the range you don't accidentally reprogram/turn-on the range). After almost a dozen calls they are sending a replacement grate and have scheduled a service call... July 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never Purchase a Samsung Appliance We purchased a Samsung gas range (NX58H5600SS) last summer. Within 4 months of light use, one of the gas knobs (plastic) broke off. We paid $50 to replace it, because parts were not covered under warranty. That's an understandable policy for you to hold, based on the incredibly poor quality of your parts. A short year later, the oven stopped heating entirely. We barely made it past one year, just enough to fall outside of the manufacturers warranty. We've now paid more in repairs than we paid for the actual gas range, when we purchased it new, last summer. Your agents were not knowledgeable or helpful in any way. We are waiting for a second repair from your authorized service center, and have been without use of an oven for over 2 months. We also purchased a Samsung washer and dryer. Both of which have required multiple repairs, at our own expense in less than 2 years of ownership. Needless to say, we will never purchase another Samsung product. We're more than disappointed in the actual quality of your products as well as the lack of customer service provided. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of pluses I got this over the July 4th weekend sale because my 19 year old stove quit. I love the convection since my baked goods are no longer burnt on the edges and bottom. The gas burners are easy to clean and the grates flow across the entire top so I can remove items from the oven to cool. Easy to use buttons. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excelllent Range Beautifully designed and a very good value. We considered the other, more expensive ranges in the Samsung line, but can't see anything we'd need beyond what this model offers. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stove however be careful of the grate Great oven/range for the money, love the convection oven. The one thing that I really dislike and will hopefully be able to purchase a new grate for the top of the stove. The grate over the burners on top do not "connect" all the way, I have several times had a pan almost tip over because of this. Samsung missed the boat on this simple thing, and something I would of never thought of before purchasing. Since I have a young child, this is a biggie for me. I have seen other models with a full grate over the burners, so hoping I will be able to replace. July 17, 2016
