Customer Reviews

30 in. W 21.8 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator in Black is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 271.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Samsung refrigerator have problems Before you buy any samsung refrigerator, make a search in the reviews. you will find they have major design fault and you will regret your purchase. I bought a French door (another model) and I would classify it as a warmer than a refrigerator . In fact, it may warm up your home better than your heating system. Worse than that, the customer service, fully aware of the problem and the design fault, tries to get away with giving any proper solution. The issue is that air ducts freeze and do not let the air flow inside the refrigerator. Apparently this freeze up , goes as far as the evaporator. As a result, you will end up paying for spoiled groceries more that the cost of the fridge. Samsung not only does not acknowledge the issue, it tries to have it repaired on your packet. I tried to take my complained as far as it could go with samsung, but they refused to offer any solution, knowing it cannot be corrected. it was the first and last samsung product I ever buy. I am glad I did not buy the extended warranty as it turned out useless even during warranty period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally satisfied We searched for a French door, bottom freezer refrigerator with an ice maker and no thru-door water that would fit our space. Our overhead cabinet is lower than most. We found this Samsung model on the Sears website and it seemed to be perfect. But it was "discontinued" and "unavailable". Then we found it on the Home Depot website. Delivery was quick and installation was very efficient and professional, and included moving our old fridge to the basement (only $15 extra). It's roomy inside and it's cute on the outside. It's quiet. The first ice cubes were black but the following cubes quickly became clear. The adjustable glass shelves are attached only at the rear but seem sufficiently strong. Our magnets stick to it, something we did not expect! The manual could use a native English speaker. Recommended.

Plenty of room in the freezer and food compartments. Although we have had it only a couple weeks we are very pleased with the unit. We updated all of our appliances and hood fan to stainless steel and love the new look to the kitchen!! Decided to share all of the photos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would never buy from Home Depot or Samsung again I am not sure which is worse, Home Depot's customer service or Samsung's service and product. In sum, we ordered this refrigerator to replace a GE that had broken shelves and a broken ice maker. It took 2-3 weeks to come. It came, the Home Depot installers plugged it in and ran out the door. It never got cold. We called Home Depot. After waiting on hold, we were told to call Samsung. We called Samsung. They insulted our intelligence by asking us to confirm it was plugged in and on. Yep. Only the cold is missing. We were told to call Home Depot back to discuss with them. Home Depot then tells us to call Samsung back. We do. We are told they need to schedule a service visit and they will contact us in 4 days to schedule it. Being proactive, I called the local Samsung repair center. It was going to be 10 days to come see the fridge (they are likely too busy with exploding phones and washing machines. Well, it's not 1875 so I need a refrigerator. We ordered another brand from another store and it arrived in 2 days. It has worked perfectly. I had to wait 8 days for them to pickup the fridge, let alone for them to look at it to fix it. Regardless, I lost all the food. Home Depot offered me free pickup (wow ice in winter) for my trouble. They claim they will refund my credit card. They have not. Samsung won't pay for any of the food I lost and neither will home depot. Why? A technician didn't come confirm that the refrigerator was broken. It could have been user error. Right. It wasn't in demo mode. I am not an idiot and I cannot live two weeks without a refrigerator. So, if you want spoiled food, Home Depot to keep your money and for them to call you stupid, order this fridge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A lemon I purchased the refrigerator on July 20th and received delivery on September 1st. Since it wasn't available. The refrigerator won't cool. After conversations with 4 Samsung representatives who were unable to assist until unit was turned on for 24 hours, it was confirmed that the unit was a lemon. Isn't there a gradual cooling of the unit? When the unit is on for 10 hours and the temp is the same isn't it obvious that unit doesn't work? I'm currently awaiting replacement unit which will be delivered on September 23. I have been without a working refrigerator since I moved in July 8,, 2016 when the Seller's refrigerator which was suppose to work wouldn't work. i don't know what else to say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits just fine You are probably looking at this refrigerator for the same reason I did -limited space. If you can only fit one in your are limited to the models you can buy. So, after looking and looking, we decided to go with the Samsung. We are replacing the Frigidaire that seems to be the standard for this application. The old refrigerator is 12 years old. We could of fixed it but it's 12 years old (guess what the average life of a refrigerator is). Plus my wife hated that one. Anyway you can get that fridge the next day,. if you want to upgrade you wait 10 days. Well the Samsung is the same exact dimensions as that model but has new technology behind it. The Frigidaire has a space for an ice maker but I've never seen anyone actually install one because it takes up half the space of the freezer. The Samsung cleverly installs it in the roof of the unit. This results in a freezer almost twice the size of the Frigidaire. We looked at bottom freezer models but they had a fresh food area that was 2 cf LESS than what we had. Unacceptable. The Samsung has a fresh food compartment that is about 1 cf bigger plus the freezer is bigger as I mentioned. It seems very well built and seals very tightly. The ice maker seems a little overkill - it makes 4 lbs a day. Most people that get this unit don't need that much ice a day. I imagine they make one size and use it in a lot of models. The LED lights are a nice touch, very adequate. The foot print doesn't seem to be much different from the old one. In other words it doesn't stick out into the kitchen much if any more than the old one. Now to the negatives. Number one is the price. Apparently if you need a specific size you pay through the nose AND wait 10 days for the privilege. Larger models with more features were on sale when we bought it (in door water etc( for $999. We had to pay over $500 more for this one. Samsung isn't alone with this every other manufacturer does the same. I guess it subsidizes the cost of putting the larger ones on sale. Next, french doors look nice but they aren't as functional in my opinion. We couldn't fit all the tall items in the doors and couldn't in our own unit. Well I adjusted one side but when you do, the space between the top and the bottom shelves is very narrow. So you really can only adjust one side, unless you want to remove the middle shelves. It all worked out but I have to laugh at the pictures of the refrigerator "stocked". Those people must eat really poorly lol. Another thing I'd wish they'd fix is that there is no "list of things you need for the installation". A simple list would go far for the people who are unsure what items to have on hand. When I contacted Home Depot they told me that I'd have to contact Samsung. I contacted Samsung and told them that I was looking in the manual and it had arrows pointing at "items provided" and did I need the other ones? Their advise was "contact a reputable installer". O.k. WHAT do I need to have on hand when the installer comes? No clue. I went to my local plumbing supply house and got the items I needed to install an ice maker (none had ever been installed) BTW, no filter is included so you can buy the OEM product for $50 that lasts 6 months or buy an aftermarket one that lasts 5 years for $32. You can guess which one I got. One thing to get used to are the doors. Compared to the old style that automatically closes when you let it go, these take "two men and a boy" to close. You have to firmly push them closed. Probably provides a better seal though. A alarm sounds when you leave them open more than 3 min. This model does NOT have a way to turn the alarm off. So all in all it's (so far) a great refrigerator. Quiet, keeps things at a constant temp, freezes quickly and does all the things a fridge should. Samsung had the better overall reviews than the other brands even though you have the occasional bad experience. I read one survey that said it had the fewest complains for repair overall than most of the brands. Frankly, the Samsung had the quickest delivery of anything we looked at. Some brands had a delivery date in October! We needed one ASAP thank you very much. How many people have the luxury of saying "I think the fridge is going out, lets shop for one". No, BAM, they go out. Anyway, we got one, I recommend it and I'd tell everyone if I felt I got "taken".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Noisy - Not running properly I bought this fridge almost two month ago. The design was nice and I have friends with Samson fridges that run really quietly. The unit I have is very noisy. It sounds like a motor running and is louder than my dishwasher. When the compressor kicks in its even louder for a moment. The noise is very disruptive. I've tried to have it replaced because I've never heard anything run like this but it's quite the process and fight to do so.
