Very happy with our recent Samsung refrig. Better layout than our previous side by side. Freezer has plenty of space. Two things I would have preferred is a designated egg storage space and faster ice maker

We had such restriction with our height in our hundred year old home. We didn't want a standard top freezer, so thankfully we found this one choice that would work. So far, about three months later, we are very pleased with this choice. It looks great, works great, and has a ton of space.
The only two negatives I would have would be that I miss having water in the refrigerator door, but we have simply put a jug in the fridge. The other negative would be that I do not feel the vegetable and fruit drawers pull out far enough, but that is a pretty minimal complaint!
Overall, I highly recommend.

Just a little over 12 months after purchase, the top left interior door hinge broke off. There's a little white plastic piece covering the hinge. Now the doors don't seal as tightly as before and food is not as cold as before. I've contacted Samsung (via live chat) and have filled out a service request. I'm sure it's out of warranty already and we'll end up having to pay out of pocket for the inferior quality, but I'm waiting to hear from a service tech on that, so the jury is still out. Considering it broke after only 16 months of use, we're not impressed and would not recommend.

The ordering process was very easy. We did get exactly what we ordered. The delivery men were wonderful, fast and efficient.

Bought this refrigerator new from HD in July 2013. Within months of having it, we found that most of the food was not getting very cold in spite of the fact that we had the thermostat on MAXIMUM. Samsung sent out a repair man who checked it out and measured the temperature with a tool and explained that the key was to NOT crank up the cold on the refrigerator if you wanted our food colder, but to actually turn the thermostat down and turn up the freezer thermostat. This, of course, made no sense to us, but we tried it with little or no change.
In 2014 the ice maker stopped working. A replacement was sent.
In 2015, 1 month after the warrant expired, THE ENTIRE cooling system in the refrigerator stopped working. We had to pay $250 to have a person come out to "clean out ice that had built up" in the ventilation system of the unit. When I asked why that happened, he said it's the type of refrigerator that it is and that there is no telling when or why it can happen.
2 months later, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. We had to pay another $200 to have a part replaced.
Mind you, both times this happened, we LOST ALL OUR FOOD since it spoiled in the warm refrigerator.
Around the same time the water dispenser broke from regular usage (poor design).
Last week, the ice dispenser stopped working so I had to order a new one for $90.
All in all, this $1500 refrigerator has cost me well over $2100 in repairs as well as TREMENDOUS stress and aggravation dealing with a customer service team that was the antithesis of helpful or caring to their customers needs.
Hands down the SINGLE worst big ticket item I've ever purchased in my life. AVOID.

I purchased this fridge in 2013 and it has been pretty good to us for the last few years. In 2015, the upper hinge assembly broke which wasn't a big deal as the part is readily available and very easy to replace. Shortly after this was fixed the center flap assembly between the double doors stopped working properly. It wouldn't close when we closed the left door second. We had a repair tech come out to determine that a small spring within the flap had broken and it looked to have been from fatigue of the opening and closing cycles. We soon found out that this spring ($2.50) is no longer available and you now have to purchase the whole center flap for ($140). Long story short, don't buy this fridge as this will be an inherent problem with the undersized spring in the door.

The paint came off the door handles. When I complained, I was told that I must have touched the handles with wet hands. I have a dishwasher and stove also in black but are another brand and still look like new. When we called the company, they said we had to purchase replacement doors handles. Why would we do that if you can't touch them with wet hands?

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by swedenmd This is our 2nd Samsung fridge within 2 weeks!! The first made a horrible noise and would not stop, so we called Home Deport and had a replacement sent 7 days later. The 2nd fridge didnt have the horrible loud noise but certainly did make a loud vibrating noise when the compressor turned on. I had a side by side Kenmore for almost 20yrs and never made this loud noise when the compressor came on. Samsung has been proactive and sent a tech out 2 days ago but of course there was no noise at the time, so they suggested I record the noise and play it back to them..which I plan on doing.. so long story short.. be careful when purchasing a Samsung Fridge.
