No. It doesn't have the typical agitator that comes up in the middle. The agitator is is actually unseen, but I have had no problem getting my clothes clean. This is the way the way the companies are making washers now with unseen agitators.

Thanks for your interest. Samsung HE top load washers, including the WA400PJHDWR, do not use agitators. Instead, they use pulsators that help to circulate water through the clothes, and move the clothes around the tub gently to reduce wear-and-tear.

Answer:
No, please do not. This machine needs an HE laundry detergent. If you use a regular detergent, you will suds up the machine too much and since the water level is so low, the detergent will not rinse out. In addition, the detergent fills up the cavities and crevices of the machine and eventually will continue to suds up your laundry, even after you've switched to an HE detergent.

The washer does not get "all" of the water out of the clothes. It does get the clothes spun pretty well. Altho it claims to have clothes almost dry, I have not really noticed a bit difference from my old conventional washer (when it was new) to this Samsung.

It does an excellent job. It's more noticeable with polyester and light weight clothing. But I could definitely see the less water difference with bedding. If you dont stuff this washer you will have great results. Clothes do need room to move and with the size of this washer they do have the room. I am satisfied with its spin that takes much of the water out of the laundry.

OMG, yes, this washer is one of the few that I can take my clothes out of and really not need too much drying time.
You have 3 settings, low, med and high - when you set it on high, it'll whip the clothes around fast and silently.
Nothing to be worried about, the 800 rpm is just a number, in reality very effective.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The worst washer I ever purchased!!! DO NOT BUY THIS I purchased the set about 3 years ago. The dryer was first to break down just a few days after the warranty. I called Samsung and they refused to help. So, I had to purchase another dryer, this one was whirlpool. Then now my washer machine breaks. Causing severe damage to my home. This is within 3 years of purchase. I replaced my Kenmore (that was over 15 years) with these units and I am very very disappointed. I will never buy a Samsung washer or dryer again. June 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The bottom falls out in more ways than 1 … product quality & support We've had our Samsung WA400PJHDWR/AA01 washing machine 2 years & 4 months. Yesterday I looked in the stainless steel drum and saw the bottom outer ring had separated 1/4 of the way around the drum. We're a two-person household, so laundry loads are never large. There is a black substance on the bottom edge of the piece that separated. It looks like black mold is growing in the seam, where the bottom piece attaches to the drum; it isn't visible in the area that hasn't separated. I called Samsung yesterday and they said they would schedule an out-of-warranty service call. If the stainless steel drum is defective, they will replace it free of charge … BUT … I have to pay the labor; because the labor warranty is only 1 year and we've had the machine for 2 years, 4 months. This stainless steel drum separation is a common problem and I can't see paying the service trip charge & installation labor for a known problem. Those charges would easily exceed the current value of the washer. Unfortunately, we bought this Samsung washer based on Consumer Reports excellent reviews; that proved to be a costly mistake! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage Same problem as most others, drain pump cracked off. Two years old and they don't make parts anymore. Cust srevice will send someone to look at it but I have to pay everything. Bye Bye Samsung Hello LG April 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Only one snag so far... This is the easiest washer in the world to use! You put the detergent and the clothes in, close the top, and push the start button. I love how it 'weighs' the clothes to see how much water to use; I feel so eco-friendly!! Things were going well until I tried to wash a load of towels. Somehow one of the towels worked its way between the bottom of the sidewall and the tub bottom. It snagged on something in there and I had to really work to get it out. It hasn't happened since, so I'm hoping it was an anomaly. August 24, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No. 14 months of use and it's time has come to an end. Drain pump broke (if you have one and it hasn't, it will) and now the random 3E error or just random cycle restarts resulting in never-ending loads. It works correctly 20% of the time, and with an active family of 5, this is totally unacceptable. I'm a mechanical engineer, so I know a bad design when I see one. March 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the money! I bought this during a five day sale at Home Depot and am happy to say that it has exceeded our expectations. The machine does two loads at once and is very quiet. I also like the fact that it saves us up to 76% in water consumption. Great machine and I love Samsung products. March 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This top load washing machine is large with many features. Easy to use, quiet, many nice and handy features like "delicate" wash, quick wash and rinse & spin. Clothes come out clean and with less water. The tub has more room for clothes or to wash your bedding. As with any washer, dont overfill, and your laundry will come out clean. Enjoy the musical tones at the end of the wash cycle. The lid is lite and could crack if you put heavy weight or force on it. Enjoy this washer and recommend. March 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well Built & Easy to Operate Excellent from the Delivery all the way to the first use....
