Everything about this washer is exactly what I wanted!!!! When I first started using it, it was quiet and the music to inform me the cycle is finished is just soooooo cute!
I got this washer in August. It's now October and the spin cycle is just crazy loud! I can hear it upstairs and sometimes I wonder if it's something else at times.
I think this is an issue with this model since I did read other reviews with the same issue. Wondering if there's anything that can be done about that ... that's quite possibly my biggest issue. That and that sometimes the soap doesn't completely wash off the clothes but inbelieve that's from the type of detergent being used (HE vs non-HE) .

Since we've been using this Washer for only a few weeks, I'm hesitant to give a rating higher than good, as I said, so far so good!! However the little times we used this washer it's performed as expected. There are far more setting to explore when the situations calls. I suspect the nicest thing so far is the lack of noise, very very quiet.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Csands The unit was great...for the 16 months it worked until the bearing wore out. Now it sounds like a jet taking off during spin and Samsung only offers a 12-month warranty, so I have to pay to have it fixed. This is not a minor repair - the whole thing basically needs to be taken apart to get to the bearing, and then it's recommended the outer drum, door seal, and possibly the spider be replaced along with the bearing, so it's looking like hundreds of dollars. I've read it's worth repairing if you do it yourself, but might as well buy a new unit otherwise. I'm pretty handy, but I'm not going to dismantle a hulking machine with mechanical and electrical components that spins at 1200 rpm's and hope it all works right when I get it back together. Despite the fact that I would not recommend this unit, I'm going to buy the same one, ONLY because I have the matching dryer in platinum, and have to have a stacked set. Just hope the first time around I got a lemon. Again, it worked beautifully - when it worked.

Poor design. Excessive mold issues. Failed at only 5 years. Major part defect that Samsung won't acknowledge exists in front load machines.
Repair cost $400.

Within 24 hours of purchase, had to contact Samsung because of excessive vibration. I was told to calibrate the washer (Home Depot installers failed to do so at time of installation) to resolve the problem. The problem was not resolved. Went to the Home Depot store and complained, they contacted Samsung on my behalf and sent back out the installation team (Not a Samsung warrant technician). 2 weeks later the installation team arrived to inspect the washer, they only opened the door, spun the drum one half turn and said it was defective and would recommend the Samsung the unit. The total time spent to inspect the unit was less than 5 min. in the home. 3 weeks later Home Depot delivered and installed a new washer. I made sure that this time the installer calibrate the drum before he left. Once again after the 1st use, the same issue excessive vibration! Again, went to Home Depot store and requested that Samsung units be picked up and I select new units from a different company be delivered and installed. Home Depot said that it was not possible to return them and Samsung could only repair them with their warrant technician. I demanded that Home Depot arrange this repair, as I had already spent many, many hours on the phone as well as driving to their store to resolve the issue. The sales associate then brought over the store manager and he instructed the associate to call on my behalf for warranty service. This phone call took over an hour to complete, only to find out from Samsung that they do NOT have warranty technicians to service washers in my area (Santa Barbara). Samsung said that they look further into it and call me within 24 hours, to give me final instructions of what would happen next...They never did call me back! I had to call Samsung again myself and go through the scenario all over again, which took another hour on the phone only to be promised a call back from Samsung's upper management. 5 days later, I received a call fro Samsung that they would refund my money in full. They requested I fill out many forms of paper work, pictures of the dryer power cord (not defective washer?) being cut. About 30-45 days later, I finally did receive a check for the refund from Samsung. This entire ordeal was just appalling from beginning to end and lasted over 3 months! Do Not Purchase this washer. It is a poor design, jumps around on the floor and squeaks unlike any washer I've ever had. Samsung's customer service is absolutely the poorest from any company I've ever had to use. Be sure to read reviews away from Home Depot, watch YouTube video's on these washers and beware of this washer's performance!!!!

Beware of Samsung washers--the control board failure is well-documented, although we didn't realize it when we bought ours. Two years out (and just past warranty), the control board failed, and we are out a washer. It costs over $100 just for the replacement part, not to mention labor. Others have complained that the replacement control boards fail just as often, so it looks like a $250 fix every two years.
