No, you cannot. One of the sales reps in the store told me that you could do this via the "Aqua Jet" button, but this is incorrect. GE makes a similar model to this (GE GTW680BSJWS), which allows you to customize the water level, and even how much water it uses for the rinse.

There's a way to add more water after the cycle begins and the level isn't sufficient by using the Aquajet feature it adds water in 5 min increments or at manual control.

No, and it's really annoying that you cannot. It chooses the amount of water, I believe by weighing the clothes at the beginning of the cycle. Terrible feature.

Answer:
The WA48H7400AW and other Samsung HE Washers have automatic weight sensors to help ensure the appropriate amount of water for the size of the load, and the water level cannot be adjusted manually. This helps to save both water and energy.

Can you pause and add an item during wash cycle without it adding more water? With my current machine if I open it to add an item it automatically fills the machine to the max - has nothing to do with weight. I can add a sock and it just fills as if its a full load.

Answer:
Actually the machine in my observation does not add water for any reason after the initial fill so no adding the item does not change the cycle at all. You simple pause the machine, the lid unlocks and you throw in that errant sock close the lid and press the pause/play/start button again the lid locks and the machine continues where it left off.

Answer:
Hi MCE,
You can pause and add an item after the cycle has started in the WA48H7400AW. The Automatic Weight Sensors may determine that more water is necessary, but it isn't likely this would be necessary for a sock, and Samsung's HE Top Loaders are both water and energy efficient so aren't designed to "fill" the tub with water.

Hi Birdie,
The WA48H7400AW has a Pre-soak option that automatically pauses the wash cycle for 15 minutes, then resumes using the same water. You can also pause the cycle for a longer period of time by pressing the Start/Pause button, then press Start again when you're ready for it to continue. If you wish to drain the water that the items have been soaking in, turn the Washer off then on again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect washer for our family! Love this washer, I don't stop talking about this washer to my friends, really good energy efficiency, love how quiet it is, big capacity holds my blankets and bedding all at once. It takes so little time compare to other brands and cleans so much better! Also, the design is nice and neat, good addition to our new home! September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Insane amount of mold after just 14 months of usage This washing machine worked great, as advertised, right up until it started spitting out TONS and TONS of mold in every single wash cycle we ran. The mold came in the form of small leaf-like particles (not all small) and would be ALL OVER our clothes at the end of each cycle. It is coming from underneath the drum (not from our water line). Home Depot sold us a raw deal of a warranty. The warranty states NOWHERE that mold will not be part of the deal and Home Depot told us that the warranty covers everything. We spent over an hour on the phone with the warranty company, only for them to tell us that us that there was nothing they would do to help us. So now we are left with an expensive Samsung washer that produces mold after every cycle and an expensive warranty that is 100% worthless unless there is an electronic failure. Gonna have to order a new washer after having this one for less than 2 years. I'd rather waste my hard earned money somewhere else. July 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice washing machine This is a great washing machine. It is sharp looking, has a large capacity, and is easy to use. I do have a warning for those on the short side. I am 5 ft. 4 in. tall and I do have to really reach down into the washing machine to get the clothes out. I am not heavy so it's not that my stomach gets in the way. If you were pregnant, I can't see how you would be able to get the clothes out. It's working for me but I do have to stretch to get the clothes. Otherwise, it's a great washing machine and big enough for a quilt or large loads. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good washer Only have had it a month, but really like both the washer and dryer. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this washing machine My SIL has one so I knew I'd like it. I love it. I had to turn off the sounds and it is a bit louder than my last one, and it does wash longer. But, my clothes are cleaner, especially my sheets and I love the large capacity. I'm not short, average height of 5'6" so I have no problem reaching the bottom. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Favorite Washing Machine This machine fits in the space of my old washer but is has such a large capacity that we can wash in ONE LOAD what was formerly almost two loads. Handy detergent dispenser does not get all gunked up. Love the cleaning cycle that is available. Love the "Active Wear" cycle for our athletic clothes. They come out perfectly clean and do not get beat to death with an agitator. Great machine! September 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Samsung washer suck!! I bought a samsung washer about 3yrs ago. Now that it's out of warranty it's throwing a door code dc. Meaning the load is unbalanced when it's not. And it starts the rinse cycle all over again when it gets to the final spin cycle. Can't fix it because they stopped making the parts for it. Will NEVER buy samsung appliances again September 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I Expected The washer is huge but it twists everything so much that the wrinkles are hard to get out. I also don't feel that it gets stains out as good as my old front load washer did. The set looks nice but I'm very disappointed in my purchase. September 13, 2016
