How does this slide-in replace a free-standing range "with no remodel" as your website states?

I have a thick granite backsplash that caused no issue with my old freestanding range. Now, your slide in unit won't push fully back due to the width of the cooktop. The filler piece is the same width as the cooktop, so that leaves the gap there. As far as I can see, there is no way to get rid of the gap at the back of the range with my standard freestanding installation space. This is not addressed in any of your installation videos, which all show a no-backsplash installation. Even the other reviewers on this site all have ranges that stick out prominently due to this, and one guy even bought a filler piece to make it look good.

How am I supposed to make this flush with my back wall without adding in a piece of matching granite? I don't want to do any kind of remodeling since your website claims none is necessary.

Thanks for the question. While the width of the NE58F9500SS cook top is 31", the body of the Range is actually 29-4/5" and is designed to fit in a standard cabinet opening of 29-15/16”~30-1/16”.

The cooking surface is wider that 30", about 0.5" inch on both left an right sides, and is about 3/16" thick. The body of the oven is just under 30", about 29 15/16". If you can make the cooking surface stand taller then the counter-top, it will slide in to an opening of about 30"

Hello coyote10 and thank you for your question.
The assembled dimensions of the Samsung 5.8 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range are 31" wide x 34-36-13/16" adjustable height x 26-19/64" deep. This range will not fit in your 30 inch wide space.

Answer:
Both are offered on this range, you select the type before setting the temp and turning the oven on. But the heating elements are on top of the oven, there are none on the bottom... so I'm uncertain how conventional baking will compare (to baking with heating elements on the bottom).

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 160 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love it! I love my new slide in range! makes the kitchen look so much larger and love the oven functions!! The large and small burner sizes has been great with different size pans. cleans up very easy. I cover the knob area in front when frying as it is not easy cleaning screen and knobs if they get greasy. May 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised Installation went great, the delivery crew was wonderful to work with, and the range fit perfectly and works great! Loved using the internal temp probe on the Thanksgiving turkey, worked like a charm. Yes the timer bell is not very loud which I wish we could adjust. December 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 5-year warranty on glass cooktop is worthless The 5-year warranty on glass cooktop and heating elements are worthless. It does not warranty against small crack on top of the non-functional heating burner. Samsung person cannot explain what would they cover for the glass cooktop, and she tried to intimidate me with the costly service call and repair. This is the last ever Samsung product that I will by. I did have bad experience with Samsung tablet, I should not buy this second Samsung product. March 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't be afraid of the knobs, they lock! I usually don't write reviews, but with all the negative remarks on the knobs, I wanted to let folks know in case you are on the fence buying it online and not in person. If you were like me and read what seemed 642 reviews, you will notice most if not all the poor remarks were due to the knobs. Fire hazard, brush against them, etc. These knobs lock in place in the off position. You have to press them in and then turn to engage. They will not move or turn in the off position - period. Samsung has either fixed this problem on the new models (mine was delivered 2/20/16) or folks must be wrestling in their kitchen to engage these knobs and turn them on. This is a beautiful range with tons of features. If you are on the fence buying it online, don't be. February 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful and reliable stove I felt I had to write review about this stove. It looks great in my kitchen, easy to use. It is very easy to clean ( I have no idea why are there bad reviews regarding cleaning this stove top smooth glass surface, I only use water, little bit dishwasher soap, and paper tower to clean it after it cools down). So the stove is very easy to maintain. Also after 2 weeks of use I did not notice any scratches on the top surface. We baked only one cake in it, and the cake was baked evenly everywhere. It also was very easy to install and adjust. For those who blames this stove that it is not childproof, the knobs can be removed very easily, you can also lock the stove by pressing control lock button for 3 seconds. I also like I can check the internal temperature of the meat constantly. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great range! I have had this range for about a month now and really like it. It has a large capacity oven---I cooked all my Thanksgiving casseroles in it at the same time using convection. I really like having 2 large burners (both dual size) and 2 small ones, as well as a warming burner. The top cleans well too---baked on food needs a bit of scrubbing with the special stovetop cleaner, but no scratches. The burner knobs are heavy---not cheap. I also like the bread proofing setting. To keep the stainless clean longer, I polished it with a stainless cleaner---it helps protect the finish. There is a little noise when the convection fan blows, but not enough to be bothersome. December 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Repairman out 3 times now... this will be 4th time... unit less than 2 years old. Purchased in 2014 with warranty running out in Aug 2015. In Jan 2016, the oven started making a very loud noise to the point we were afraid to use it. Called Samsung- they referred me to Service Quick. They are basically using only Service Quick now to service their appliances. The first man came out and said it was the convection fan/motor. We don't use the convection part of the oven but ok, I asked them to proceed with fixing it. He ordered the part and sent pictures of what he needed (and specifically stated to his home office/parts area that it was the bottom fan motor). He was worried they would send the wrong motor. He came back out a week later and sure enough - they sent the wrong one. So he had to have them resend the correct one - so another delay. They came back out a 3rd time to finally replace with the correct motor. It worked for about 2 weeks then started making a loud noise again. I called and left a voice mail. No response. I called and left my name for the dispatcher to call back (since she wasn't there). No response. I called the third time and threatened to call Samsung to file a complaint. They scheduled the appointment for today. I have yet to hear from anyone - we'll see if they even show. I don't have confidence they will. Learned that Service Quick doesn't even have an operation up and running in my state/area. They brought people from California in to do the servicing on the appliances until they can get their 'service operation' up and running. Hence the delay in getting parts... their warehouse is in California. I'm in Ohio. Oh.. to add insult to injury... they dented the bottom drawer (storage drawer) on their last visit. And, the same guy didn't have anything to protect the wood floor from getting scratched and didn't seem worried about it ... I spent $12k on these floors when I replaced the appliances in 2014 - I care about scratches! I used beach towels on the floor to protect the floor when he pulled it out to work on it. Bottom line - the service company they use is AWFUL. The quality of the appliance is AWFUL. I've been an avid support of Samsung in the past (especially their smart TVs). Based on this experience, I seriously doubt that I will purchase Samsung again in the future. This 4th repair is my LAST repair. If it is still an issue or the stove/oven isn't fixed, I'm going back to Samsung and demanding a replacement. For $1799, I shouldn't have a 1.5 year old oven breaking like this and have to endure 4 service visits - each one with a 4 hour window... Yes, I'm a bit upset about this entire experience. What ever happened to paying more for good quality merchandise? I would have been better off going cheap... February 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase The timer buzzer is not very loud and shut off after about 30 second completely. If your in another room you cannot hear the over timer go off. The glass top is hard to clean. January 5, 2016
