How does this slide-in replace a free-standing range "with no remodel" as your website states?

I have a thick granite backsplash that caused no issue with my old freestanding range. Now, your slide in unit won't push fully back due to the width of the cooktop. The filler piece is the same width as the cooktop, so that leaves the gap there. As far as I can see, there is no way to get rid of the gap at the back of the range with my standard freestanding installation space. This is not addressed in any of your installation videos, which all show a no-backsplash installation. Even the other reviewers on this site all have ranges that stick out prominently due to this, and one guy even bought a filler piece to make it look good.

How am I supposed to make this flush with my back wall without adding in a piece of matching granite? I don't want to do any kind of remodeling since your website claims none is necessary.

Thanks for the question. While the width of the NE58F9500SS cook top is 31", the body of the Range is actually 29-4/5" and is designed to fit in a standard cabinet opening of 29-15/16”~30-1/16”.

The cooking surface is wider that 30", about 0.5" inch on both left an right sides, and is about 3/16" thick. The body of the oven is just under 30", about 29 15/16". If you can make the cooking surface stand taller then the counter-top, it will slide in to an opening of about 30"

Both are offered on this range, you select the type before setting the temp and turning the oven on. But the heating elements are on top of the oven, there are none on the bottom... so I'm uncertain how conventional baking will compare (to baking with heating elements on the bottom).

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 187 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this range! This range is awesome and looks great. Stove top cooking is quicker on this range than with my prior range, as it heats up quickly. Same with the oven. The only thing I wish it had was a simmer setting for the burners. Ignore the complaints you might have read from others about the knobs not locking into place. Total nonsense. Likewise for complaints about the stove top scratching. It's glass and needs to be gently used and cared for. So the complaints may be coming from people who are using the wrong pots/pans on it or cleaning it abrasively. August 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The good the bad and the ugly I recently remodeled my kitchen and the purchase of this stove was part of the remodel. After a (horrible - read more below) installation experience I went to use my new stove. The top worked fine the oven did not. I tried over an over to set the oven using both the bake and convection bake. The oven would never get above a temp of 165 degrees. The broil function would not work at all. I called HD and they had me call Samsung direct. Yes I literally sat on hold for over one hour before I could speak to a customer service rep (total time of call right at two hours). They scheduled a service person to come out to my house. He found that the circuit board in the unit was not soldered so the stoves electronics would not work properly. He offered to get a new part and replace. Because I had never used the stove I said no that I wanted a new one. The new one came a week later and is working great. Love the features. I will caution you though - the top scratched VERY EASILY. Be careful with what type of pan you use. The stove is absolutely beautiful and looks great in my kitchen. Love all the features and the number of burners on the top. Definitely has a high end look and feel to it. I would have rated the quality a 5 except the top scratches to easily. Now for my installation issue. When the repairmen removed the stove he found that the installer had not even lowered the feet on the stove. That meant that the stove was literally being held up by the glass top of the stove. Considering that this is a slide in stove the result could have been horrific. That was just one of many issues that I had with the installation. Horrible - horrible - horrible. September 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Okay I purchased this range almost 2 years ago. It's really sharp looking and works great but you have to be sooooo careful not to touch the front panel or you're likely to shut the oven off or turn it on. I'm short and if I reach to the back burner many times I brush the front panel and have turned it off or on. This is extremely frustrating! Also, the burners do heat things fast, but once they're hot it's tricky to get them cooled down enough to just keep the food simmering. Lastly, the black cooktop shows every single dust particle, piece of food, fingerprint, drop of grease....I wouldn't purchase again if I knew all his before I bought it. July 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Samsung quality going down hill Does what a stove does fairly well. Good design makes it look like a gas grill rather then electric. Two big negatives. The automatic temperature probe immediately failed the first time we tried to use it and now only displays an error message when you plug it in. Second, the light bulb burnt out after the first use and Samsung would not replace this under their manufacturers warranty (excuse me?). Samsung is just going down hill and dont bother calling their support lines they will just transfer you around all day in circles because there are apparently 2 or 3 departments that handle the same request and none of them know what they are responsible for. July 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A beauty in disguise This is the first appliance I have owned that I would strongly NOT recommend. Home Depot reviews were quite good, so despite literally hundreds of negative reviews on Consumer Affairs and at Lowe's, I bought the stove because I loved the design and had no little ones running around to worry about knobs or heat. What I did not know until 22 months into use was that the glass cook top is prone to HEAT CRACKS. If you buy the warranty and if the crack that literally appears out of the blue is a straight line, the top will be replaced. If you have a straight crack and it spiders, you will be blamed for the damage. We had the straight crack. I photographed it and did not use the stove again until the top was replaced. I then started reading other reviews on the web and learned that mine was no isolated problem. MOREOVER, the service providers that replaced the top revealed that the wire harness in the front panel of the range is not protected at all from the heat sources under the glass cook top. So, buyer beware. Hate to bring the bad news, but if you manage to get more than a few years' of good use out of this expensive and aesthetically attractive range, you are pretty lucky it seems. Home Depot, Lowe's and other carriers should be pushing back on Samsung and UL to fix these issues. If you have already bought the range, you will also know that the cook top is a bear to clean compared to other glass cook tops (I recommend baking soda on any possible spills and a complete cleaning after every single use, and as with all glass tops, never leave an empty pot to warm up. Better yet, don't heat anything at all on the stove and you'll have no problem!) August 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Range This is a very nice Range. The elements heat up quickly and deliver even heat. The oven bakes really well. The only negative I have is the knobs for the burners are too easily turned on when leaning into them. This was mentioned in other reviews and I found it to be accurate. You just have to be aware of this when working around the stove. July 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressed I replaced an older oven and had no idea what I have been missing. Samsung delivered a wonderful and good looking product all systems are very efficient. I love cooking and baking! I recommend this without hesitation. If your looking this is a beauty. July 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised Installation went great, the delivery crew was wonderful to work with, and the range fit perfectly and works great! Loved using the internal temp probe on the Thanksgiving turkey, worked like a charm. Yes the timer bell is not very loud which I wish we could adjust. December 8, 2015
