Thanks for your interest in the FE-R300SW. The ceramic glass cook top could scratch if not properly cared for. The following excerpt is from page 36 of the manual:
Removing metal marks and scratches
1. Be careful not to slide pots and pans across your cooktop. It will leave marks on the cooktop surface. You can remove these marks by applying ceramic cooktop cleaner.
2. If pots with a thin overlay of aluminum or copper are allowed to boil dry, the overlay may leave black discoloration on the cooktop. You should remove this discoloration immediately or it may become permanent.

Answer:
The FE-R300SW has four radiant cooktop elements and does not have a fifth warming burner. The NE595R0ABWW, however, has five elements including a Warming Center, as well as a 5.9 cubic foot True Convection oven.

5.9 cu. ft. Electric Range with Self-Cleaning in White is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Range at a Decent Price This is a great range for the money. I love the small/large burners up front because these are the ones you use most often. Having a pot of boiling water on the back burner and stuff on the front burners gives me toasty breasts. (ha!) Samsung figured out that we want to use the front burners and we need small/large burner flexibility. YAY! Otherwise, it has a nice big window and decent lighting. We love that hidden lower element because it makes clean up easy. We all know that if something drips, Murphy's Law says it will hit the element and stink to high heaven! The drawer is a little smaller, but it's a small trade off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 5 months old cracked cooktop! I got this stove on sale for 550 at my local home depot. I didn't purchase a warranty at time of purchase, however it comes with a one year manufacturer warranty. So while my wife is cooking on the top it cracks in multiple directions. I call samsung, they seem helpful and apologetic. They ask me to email pictures of the top to them, OK fine. A week goes by I have to call and remind them I am still without a usable stovetop. They send out a tech who only takes more pictures and leaves. Fast forward 2 more weeks later I have another guy coming supposedly to change the top. He shows up takes pictures and tells my wife he has to order the top? Wtf!!! So needless to say Samsung will absolutely give you the run around if ever you have a warranty issue. Oh and if the top cracks again after the year is up it costs 400+ to replace. This stove is a lemon, Don't buy Samsung stoves!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nothing but problems+ terrible customer svc We have had nothing but problems with this stove. We have had to replace the glass top twice once for fading and once for cracking. Samsung customer service wasn't willing to do anything at all for us. Their svc techs were rude and very abrupt. It hasn't been a good experience to say the least. Bottom drawer is flimsy. It's $400 smacks every time you have to change the cook top. I am done supporting Samsung in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy again but range is range... Entering temp, cook time, etc. is easy. Dual temp burners a bit cumbersome (difficult to get just the right temperature). I like the solid bottom in oven for cleaning. Would like cook top to have more contrast to hide any misses after clean-up

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice On My Part Outstanding range, especially for the price! The 'quick release" oven door removal feature was a key selling point for me because I have a 27" absolute choke point at the top of the stairs and I was very restricted to a range that would fit into my home. My removing the door made the depth a cool 26" and the range slipped right through. Delivery people are not allowed to remove range doors. The cook top heats up very quickly (compared to my 32 year-old Kenmore) and the even heat distribution is terrific. Controls are within easy reach, the digital read-out is pretty and the overall cosmetics are excellent. This range is positioned directly below my Bosch microwave -- the two appliances compliment each other nicely and they look like they were designed by the same guy. The oven has plenty of room and the oven light illuminates the interior very well. The oven racks are very easy to adjust and they are secure. The lower storage drawer hold all of my pizza & pie pans and a few frying pans. Storage is very adequate. The Home Depot delivery service guys (R.A.S.) were extremely professional, friendly, patient with me and hard working.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrid cooktop if you are a good cook using good pots. Pack away your Le Crueset, your cast iron, your stainless steel. They don't work on this range. Do you really want to cook in aluminum? Because that's what they recommend. My oil smokes even on a low setting, pots scorch even on low settings, the chicken wings never fully cooked even in half an hour at a moderate setting. What a waste. And you have to buy special expensive cleaner for the cooktop, and heaven help you if you don't get it clean right away. I'm in my mid 60's - worst stove I have ever cooked on in my life, and i've cooked on plenty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Oven I purchased the entire Samsung Kitchen suite during the July 4 sale. The oven is nice and has an attractive design. I like how there's a steam self cleaning function for lower maintenance. I didn't own this for more than a week but so far I'm very happy with the purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in stove top I want to know what these stove tops are made of that make it so labor intense to clean. I had a GE glass top for 13yrs that was a breeze to clean. This top takes more labor and time to clean and only produces oil-lke streaks. Run your finger over it and a trail appears. I followed manufacturer's directions to the tee. I bought the proper cleaning liquid and pad, cleaned it before it's first use, I use clean paper towels, and I scrub and scrub after it has cooled, and still streaks remain and other marks that won't come off with either a blade or cleaning liquid. It's as if there's a film of grease on it. Glass, if it is real glass, should not act this way. My stove is only 23 days old, and I dread to think that this is how it's going to be for the life of the stove. I am so terribly disappointed and frustrated. I looked forward to getting a new convection oven, but now I've got buyers remorse because of this top, otherwise the oven is fine. Samsung needs to do something about this.
