No. No matter how firm the subfloor; the plywood will expand and contract at a different rate as the tile, causing cracks to develop in the grout lines or tiles over time. On a plywood subfloor, you need either a layer of cement backer board or an underlayment membrane,between the subfloor and tile for the thin-set adhesive to achieve a good bond. I scraped and sanded but still the left over glue left a blotch where it affected the stain. They should put the barcode on the unsanded side. Product should be described as 'sanded and dinged one side'. January 17, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price Most of the available pieces of plywood in this length were warped. Also I found the price to be very expensive for a 4X4 piece of plywood. A 4X8 is only a couple dollars more. September 22, 2014
