Answer: 
It could be used as a desk top, but the structure would have to be addressed. Simply adding a top to a weak structure may not fix the problem.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pretty good I'm not an expert, just took a basic stagecraft class last semester and felt confident enough to build my own desk. I used this for the top (two and a half pieces) and it holds fine despite me constantly bumping into it and having a 32in TV and a computer on it. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because one of the pieces was warped (bent) and made it difficult to use. I know wood comes like that but if you're gonna sell high quality materials it'd be nice to get rid of the warped pieces. But overall I'm happy with it. April 6, 2013
