Customer Questions & Answers

I'd like to order 12 tables for a Catholic school I teach at. Is there any discount you can offer? What would shipping cost for these?

Asked by: Kim
Only Home Depot can answer your questions. Go to the Service Desk at your local store for help. Sandusky is a known brand and some dealers may be willing to help educators with a discount. There was no shipping charge on my table with store pickup. I was charged sales tax. When I purchased my table it was on sale for a small reduction in price. There might be other sales. If you get store delivery you will need someone to help lift and haul the boxes (they are heavy but not too heavy). If the table is to be used with elementary school children, one table should be tested for proper height adjustment. The table is solid and should withstand student abuse. Feel the underside of the top cross-beam to see if there are sharp edges.

36 in. H x 40 in. W x 20 in. D Heavy Duty Steel Meeting/Activity Table in Putty/Maple is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.

The height is adjustable. It looks nice (like office furniture). Non-mechanical people may wish some assistance in reading the assembly diagram. There is no shakiness and the surface can bear a heavy load. The table is not lightweight so it is not an "easy lift," i.e. it sits solidly on the floor. The nylon feet are adjustable for uneven floors and provide a good scratch-free base. Changing the height requires removal and replacement of eight screws with an allen key. The holes are not perfect, but close enough, so this is the most difficult part of assembling this table. I used one screw on each leg to determine my ideal height, then put the other four screws in for final adjustment. I use this as a computer table and the height is low enough to be useful with a laptop computer and an office chair. There is also ample room for a printer and some workspace. The table can be raised for a person wishing to stand while working. The table pushes against a wall or bookcase and does not take up much floor space. The table has been used as a workstation for almost a month. This table is perfect for my needs. The booster platform shown in my photo is not part of the table.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed. Nice sturdy table. Would have given it a higher rating, but I had difficulty with tightening some of the screws. I believe that the holes in the legs were the problem. One of the screws would only go in half way and got stuck. When I tried to remove it, it broke off leaving part of the screw in the hole. Now I am unable to put another screw in and that leg is a little loose. Also there were a couple areas around the edge of the top which were nicked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product Purchased this particular table for an extremely narrow office storeroom/lunch area because of the adjustable height feature in order to work with existing odds and end pieces. Was impressed by the quality of the materials, stability and functionality (adjusts to over a dozen height options). Easy to assemble, very simple diagram instructions, and came very well packaged in cardboard box with rigid foam inserts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Assembly problems... There are four steel plates each with two threaded holes used with eight bolts to hold the legs on. The table I received only had threads in seven of the eight holes. My easiest solution was to buy a tap to thread the hole. Once threaded the table went together easily. It is very stable although a bit heavy and the height adjustment is very flexible with coarse and fine adjustments on all legs. Why only three stars? More than some assembly required. I rated difficult to assemble for the one I received. Had the hole been threaded, assembly would have been easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice table Some of the screws were hard to screw in 1 broke as we were screwing it in and 1 stripped because it was not screwing evenly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent table I needed a narrow sturdy table (non wobbly) and that it is. The fact that it is easy to adjust the height is a plus for other uses. It was easy to assemble. It is a heavy table.
