The shelving is attractive and very sturdy for my purposes. The packaging was as poor as others have mentioned. The poles were all loose within the box and clanging against each other and the shelves, only 2 of 8 still in its plastic sleeving. The shipping box was damaged on 2 corners, Fortunately, in my case, nothing was bent or severely marred. If you are near a store, I would pick it up there and ask them to inspect before you accept it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GingerR Sturdy shelving in a large size,
I had already purchased a smaller version of this shelving so it didn't matter to me that it arrived without instructions. If you are someone who has trouble assembling things (you know who you are) I would check on-line for directions before ordering this particular size as it doesn't come with much help.
With that said, they're easy to assemble. The hardest thing is making sure the plastic sleeves are even between the poles when you slip a shelf over the poles. With shelves this size it's very helpful to have someone to help you put them together because the selves are easier to seat on the plastic holders if you ease them down all at once.
I also purchased the casters. They're very sturdy. this shelving is going to sit in a room that has on occasion gotten water on the floor when it rains a lot and the gutters aren't totally clear so I wanted something that was up off the floor and easy to move.
Like several other reviewers my packaging was busted up. My shelves were in good shape and all the plastic snap together parts were there, plus a few extra.

A very well made and sturdy product with adjustable shelves. It does not come with wheels, so I suggest to buy the wheels. With the wheels it is very easy to move.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Forsta Durable, Easy to Assemble, and They Do The Job
These shelves are much like other steel kitchen shelves on the market, and they're much less expensive than the priciest, by as much as 40%. Since I had to special order the 24"-deep shelves, they were in a special shipment, and they did get beat up en route. Plastic end caps were broken and other minor accessories were damaged; as well, one of the shelves had a slight bend in it.
Given how strong these shelves are, I'm surprised they had any damage at all. They easily hold hundreds upon hundreds of pounds of my gear, supplies, and possessions. There's not a sign that they're strained in the least by books, papers, tools, and other heavy items. And, other than that one ding, they're attractive.

The shelving went together easily and without a hitch. I can't recall if there were instructions with it or not, but if there were they aren't needed. I use it to store boxes of meat in my walk-in freezer. It does exactly what I need it to do and the price was right too.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Abby Nice 18" Shelf unit
This is a great unit but I was VERY disappointed when the box arrived in a smashed and torn state! There were no instructions (not that you really need them) and one of the feet was missing. They are shipping replacement parts but that will take 2 weeks. Thankfully, I called my local Home Depot store and they gave me a foot from one of their displays. Not exactly the same but close enough so I could go ahead and finish my organization project. Perhaps Home Depot should find a different shipping company. Otherwise a great product!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by x97 The good - The bad - The ugly
Two reviews in one: The first review is on the shelving unit. They are excellent! Easy to assemble, very sturdy, and they look great. I will buy them again and I will recommend them to friends and family.
The second review is on Home Depot and the boxing and shipping of the shelving units. The boxes arrived at my local Home Depot, on time, but (the bad) boxes were slashed, crushed, re-taped, they looked like they were packaged by a team of gorillas. When the Home Depot members helped me load the boxes into my vehicle, you could hear the tubbing banging into each other very loudly. All three boxes were the same. Unpacking the shelving units, (the ugly) every wire tie down (about 12 per box) was cut, every tubing wrapper was missing. This is why just moving the boxes made so much rattling noise. One of the shelves was dented so badly that I could not get it to line up with the other shelves on that unit. No doubt, these shelves were returned by a previous buyer and never inspected or repackaged properly.
I return to Home Depot the next day with the damaged products and to vent my dissatisfaction. The person I spoke to just happened to be one of the employees that help me load the shelves into my vehicle. Of course he remembered me, and remembered the rattling of bars in the boxes. He was very professional, and accommodating. After several phone calls and transfers to different decision makers, I was offered an apology and $60 off on my $700 dollar purchase, but I was stuck with my dented shelf. I told Home Depot, I would pay for a new shelf, but I wanted a refund for the damaged shelf when I returned it for the new one. I was told "NO". Great shelves - Bad and Ugly, Home Depot
