It is hard to recommend this one unconditionally. Functionally, as a fire pit, it has worked well. What has NOT worked is the decorative tile around the edges. After the first use they started falling off. We keep gathering them up and now need to figure out how to stick them back on. Yes, we could load it back into the car to return it - but it is incredibly heavy and the motivation for doing that is pretty low.

Bought this firepit and used it all summer with not one problem. Stored it away in the garage for the winter with a cloth cover then a firepit cover. Took it out this spring only to pull the covers off and all the slate just fell off! Am so disappointed because this is the nicest firepit I'd seen at any stores or online for a reasonable price. Called Home Depot to return since I had it less than a year and they offered to give me a store credit.
Now I'm debating to buy the same one because I liked it so much or buy a different one. I've read the rest of the reviews and no one else has had that problem with the slate. Thinking it may just have been a faulty one that I bought. Hope no one else has this problem

After the second use the pan couldn't take the intensive heat and already has a hole. Ridiculous engineering.

We live in NH, Very cold Climate in winter. This will be our 3rd Spring/Summer/Fall with this fire pit and we love it! We are complimented on it often. I have read other reviews and we have not had any issues of tiles falling off so far. It's very study . We move it once per week to mow the lawn. Our pit is stored without a cover in an unheated garage. We would not leave it outside in the winter for it would get buried where we could not see it nor could our Saint Bernards. We are very happy with this product.

I just purchased this fire pit for my husbands birthday and were we extremely disappointed that when we went to put it together at least 9 tiles had fallen off and as we tries to work with it even more continued to fall off. It is frustrating that I now have to get this huge pit back to home depot and begin again!! The funny thing is that the dtions even warn that tiles may fall off.....REALLY!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Renee1 Great fire pit! LOTS of PIZZAZ for little $$
This fire pit is truly beautiful! I would give it 5 stars if it was just a little bit wider, and taller. Overall quality for the price - GREAT! Only a little disappointed that I paid $20 more for it, it is on sale now, so.... I suggest it is a GREAT buy!
I paired it with my usual summer chairs, and cushions, and the accent pillows I purchased from HOME DEPOT, last summer! Lots of compliments, looks really high line.

I bought this unit last summer and this spring I found to my surprise that 50% of the little slate stones where lying on the ground all around the fire pit. After just one season of normal use. I imagine somehow water got under the slate and when it froze it popped the stones off... regardless without my receipt I can't return it and I am just out 200 buck! I would not recommend this unit to people who live in a cold climate.

I've had this pit for months and it has held up extremely well. I bought a cover to help with the longevity, since it is stored out in the everyday elements. I receive many compliments on appearance, and the metal cover that shelters water and other debris, from entering the bowl. The tiles along the perimeter, are fully intact. I recommend this Savannah pit for prospective buyers.
