Product Overview

ScaleBlaster is an innovative, computerized water conditioning system that solves hard water problems without the need of chemicals or salt. The product requires no maintenance and is simple to install, with no plumbing required. ScaleBlaster removes and prevents lime-scale deposits in household pipes. It will protect and prolong the life of water heaters, dishwashers and washing machines. Lime-scale deposits on shower heads, sinks and faucets will easily wipe off or disappear. Soap lathers up more, skin feels smoother and hair becomes more manageable. Enjoy healthier and better tasting water as well as brighter, whiter and longer lasting clothes, towels and sheets. Water softeners require salt, waste lots of water and discharge chlorides into the environment. They also require ongoing costly maintenance. For people on salt restricted diets, ScaleBlaster is a healthy alternative. ScaleBlaster is also ideal for tankless water heaters. First appearing in 1995, ScaleBlaster is now successful worldwide.

Premium Model Residential Water Conditioner-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from ScaleBlaster We had the Scalebuster installed for a few days when my husband noticed that when he washes the cars, he would have to hurry and dry before it spotted.... Well not now... It's not near as bad about spotting. He was shocked to have noticed that it helped with that so early. A month later: I have notice that my hair is softer not as dry and brittle. I wanted this to help with the scum on the shower, but I haven't notice a big difference yet( it may be to soon). The different soap products lather better. I hope with time it all gets even better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small but powerful... This product came with clear, well written instructions to make the product easy to install. One suggestion from a DIYer to another... make sure not to let go of the coil when installing/wrapping. If possible, have another set of hands available to help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from older model I bought this product during one of HD's daily deals for $300, but returned it after talking to one of the tech reps at ScaleBlaster. This is an older model that can handle hard water up to 14 grains/gal. The SB-75 has a regular price of $300 which can handle harder water up to 19 grains/gal. The SB-75 has the same electronics as the SB-175 except the SB-75 cannot be installed outdoors. If you are going to put it in your basement the SB-75 is the much better choice. The only reason the SB-150 is more expensive is that it can be installed outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than expected I installed the ScaleBlaster 150 about 2 weeks ago in a very hard water situation. A noticeable softening of the water occurred with in a few days. An unexpected bonus was it has mostly eliminated the rotten egg smell that had been haunting our water heater. The only negative (other than price) is the LED monitor stays on "scanning" the whole time, which is not what the instructions manual indicated. Wrapping the pipe (tricky) was made easier by putting electrical around the coil at every 10 wraps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product and Value Looked for a product to reduce lime scale. This proved to be the simplest to install with the least maintenance. No additional plumbing or drain lines. No additional cost of salt compared to other softners. Fantastic product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feels like it works I installed the Scaleblaster about a month ago and I am happy with the purchase. I wish there was a way to "test" that it is actually working, and how well, but it does feel like the water for showers, etc. is softer and it seems to help with hard water spots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work I was very wary of this product but after a few months it does seem to do what is advertised. It is extremely overpriced but I could not find any other good options.
