I was excited to find this set because the online picture perfectly matched our existing ones. (4 entry doors same lock, one needed replaced). Well the deadbolt design has changed. Lookwise not too different but not the above picture. The "guts" to the deadbolt have changed significantly. So it was not just the faceplate exchange I had hoped for. The locks turn yellow/greenish after about a decade in Florida weather but otherwise no complaints.

The 15% sale added to the value of a quality lock set. I'm also glad that the store had all the same sets keyed alike.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MplsHomeowner Top lock stopped working after 2 years
I bought three of these sets for my three house doors. Within 2-3 years ALL THREE of the top locks would not work - put the key in and you can't turn it. What garbage!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RDD Works Well, Easy Install
Installed to replace a Kwikset that had become very reluctant to release my key. Total replacement time less than 15 minutes for both parts. Looks good. Works great (operates smoothly). Everything fit in existing holes. Didn't have to do any drilling or mortise work. Only tool needed was a phillips screwdriver. Didn't even need to replace the strike plates. I much prefer the lever handle to the knob I had before, but the set is available either way. Instruction sheet could be better.

I must take issue with others who seem to be in love with this lock set. First let me say that from the outside it does appear to be well made. That is where Schlage obviously spent the money - on appearances. When one looks inside especially at the mechanism that moves perpendicular to the lever it is shabby. The tolerances are excessive and it isn't hard to see it wearing out in a few years - if it lasts that long. When this begins to break down with use one could easily find themselves locked out. It must be taken apart from the inside. Just make sure you have another means of accessing your property.
This is the best of the locks offered by Home Depot in their retail stores. Better lock sets can be found elsewhere. Schlage makes a professional line that is much better made, but it will cost more, and work much better and last a whole lot longer. IMHO.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rjbjr40 Great levers and locks
I was looking for a decent price on some levers and locks that were a step-up security-wise from the typical/standard variety. I looked at grade 1 'best' and grade 2 'better' (grade 3 is standard), but was really thinking about getting a grade 1 deadbolt with a grade 2 lever (due to price constraints). Grade 1 levers can push the budget up too high. This combo pack provides just what I wanted and at a good price. The installation went very quickly with no issues. I can instantly tell these are much stronger than the ones they replaced (which were Schlage and I really liked them). Great products Schlage, I will continue to recommend them.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SWB1 Nice Looking, BUT
I wish I had read the review about locking your self out before I bought two of these sets and installed them. I have never had a door lock that would let you turn the interior handle to open the door, but does not release the lock. Consequently if you go out the door and shut it you are locked out. Hiding an emergency key outside of the house really defeats the purpose of locking the door. I called schlage and they indicated they no longer make this type of lock. I guess I am lucky and bought the old ones that Home Depot is still selling.
