Security you hear instantly - The Schlage Keyed Entry with Built-in Alarm is the first, and only, residential door lock with an audible alarm sensor. Alerting you to activity at the door on first contact with door or handle, not just when the door is opened, you can select between 3 alert modes- activity, tamper, or forced entry.

  • Choose the alert mode (type of alarm) and sensitivity (level of touch that sets off alarm) to customize the lock to your specific security needs
  • Activity alert: two short beeps let you monitor when the door has been opened or closed; perfect for monitoring doors while at home
  • Tamper alert: one long alarm sounds when the door knob or lever has been disturbed; perfect for when everyone is inside
  • Forced entry alert: a shrill, steady siren triggers at first impact and acts as a theft deterrent; perfect for protection against break-ins
  • No wiring necessary
  • Easy to use, programming done right at the lock
  • Easy installation, no wiring required
  • Runs on two AAA batteries (included) with up to three years of battery life and low battery indicator

Yes, there's a small tool (included, but a paper clip would probably work) that allows you to rotate the handle 180 degrees.

Answer:
Yes, there should be a tiny hole on the side of the inside handle. Use a small paperclip and push in the hole to release the locking tab and at the same time pull the handle outward from the lock. Reverse the handle to either right or left and push it right back into the lock case. One minute job. Good luck.

Iv had mine for three months and it sits directly in the sun for a large part of the day.It has shown no sign of been tarnished whatsoever. As for rain or getting it wet...Id say its not wise to get any door accesory in that type of condition.

Installed on protected (storm door) and enclosed porch doors, and a back yard, exposed door. Yet to be determined. Only 1 month since installation. Florida Gulf exposure. I wonder, too, if the coating, hardware, will fail.

There's a 5 year finish warranty through the manufacturer. In my experience (not sure if it applies to this product) bright brass hardware usually has a clear finish that will eventually wear off, more so if it's in direct sunlight or gets used a lot). If it does get tarnished, you could probably hit it with some brass polish and shine it back up.

I purchased three lock sets at once. I needed all three keyed alike. I took them to my local Home Depot store, in the hardware department where they make keys. CJ re-keyed all three lock sets and a dead bolt lock set all to the same key. Cost was $5.00 per lock set.

Hi Frye,
This lock with alarm will work on doors with a dead bolt.
However opening the dead bolt may set off the alarm every time you enter the door.
You're better off using it without a dead bolt.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BRIGHT BRASS KEYED ENTRY LEVER WITH BUILT-IN CAMELOT ALARM Easy to install, directions were ok, but I had to call for an explanation of how to set the three security settings....very sturdy and easy to set.....the wife and grandson get locked out often due to the lock will open from the inside, but will not open from the outside when in lock mode....lol.....enjoy your new lock set...it works...to register make sure you write down the serial number and the model number before you install....because they are inside the lock...bad idea.... June 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Adds Class to the Entryway Lock was easy to install and adds a lot of class to the entryway. Now I really need to paint the door. One caveat. If you have some form of decibel generating device (television/radio/spouse) on at the moment, the audio alarm may not be heard. July 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm glad I purchased this product. I purchased this product because my wife has authritis in her hands, bad enough that she has trouble turning a standard door knob. This lever style works great for her, and it installed easily in 2 minutes. April 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Built-in alarm is built in dissapointing Installation a breeze, but with so few programming options for it, it is so overly sensitive, it isn't worth it. Turn the nob... alarm will sound. Close the door... the alarm will sound. Open the door... the alarm will sound. Wouldn't be so bad if you could choose alarm modes based on locked or unlocked. But because you have zero choices on that, though the assembly itself looks very classy, forget about the security features. Also, they claim the alarm is as loud as a smoke detector. Kids toy smoke detector, maybe... absolutely not as loud as a home smoke detector, so if you're in a different area of the house, you have about a 60/40 chance of hearing it. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good for arthretic hands It was very easy to install. After having read instructions it took about 10 minutes to install and my wife liked the fact it had an alarm. June 10, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 1 out of 3 worked It was very easy to install but only 1 out of 3 worked for the alarm. Tried new batteries and even calling the manufacture for help and told me to return them to the store. The only problem with that is this is not sold in store had to order from .com. The one that does work helps me keep an ear out for the baby messing with the back door or anybody else coming in and out. December 18, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great look This product looks great but doesn't come with detailed instructions. I am a DIYer and I have installed 2 Schlage door knobs before but this one. This product is missing instructions on how to turn the levers the other way. After taking it apart and changing the levers, like I know how, the alarm does not work consistently. I have tried all three alarms and they are not audible like the You Tube videos or instruction manual says. I have called the companies customer service and they did not have a clue on the directions or how to guide me. June 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking hardware This lockset was very easy to install . I purchased 2 of them along with a deadbolt ,brought them to my local Home Depot & had them keyed alike . What a buy for such beautiful ,quality locksets. December 10, 2014
