Numbers on key pad do not light up; it is difficult to enter the code numbers in the dark since the numbers don't light up. I am not certain if the key pad is supposed to light up when the code numbers are pressed.

This lock is pick resistant, your second question is a little vague, are you asking if the lock dies and how do they get in? If you would like to call 800-847-1864 we are more than welcome to call with anymore questions.

I don't know. That is a very good question. All I can say is that if you change the batteries regularly, like every two years, you will never need a locksmith or a key for that matter.

we have had our first set for about two years and it still looks brand new. No wear on the numbers. You can also change your code anytime you please if you are concerned about wear but I don't see that being necessary.

One thing to think about would be changing your code every year which would probably involve other buttons and make someone trying to analyze any previous wear moot. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Door Lock We are in the hospitality business and love having this to change the code as frequent as we like. Guests have found it easy to use. No idea how well they hold up over time but impressed so far with it. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive!! I replaced my existing Schlage deadbolt with this one so installation was a breeze. All you need is a Philips screw driver. Easy to follow directions. This is not a motorized deadbolt so the battery should last a lot longer also no motorized interior parts to break down. It has a backlit keypad. Came with a 9v Alkaline Battery. Setting the codes was easy to do. Stores up to 19 different codes. Came with 2 keys in case you forget your entry code or the battery dies. After you leave just push the top button and turn the dial towards the door jamb to lock the door. You will need your code or key to re-enter. February 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Schlage Keypad Deadbolt So far I am loving this! Should of bought one years ago when they came out! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect keypad . The keypad deadbolt fits our need perfectly, it is easy to install, have it on three different doors with one common code with no keys to lose. it's design is appealing, operational to all family members, young and all. Ordered the unit and received it two days later. Satisfied plus with this product. December 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Lights I really enjoyed these lights. They brighten up my small space in my top floor condo in WDC. I really would recommend these lights to anyone who want a stylish light that illuminates areas. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great electronic Locke! This is my second lock of this model. Both were easy to install and work just as described. I no longer carry a door key. Easy lock and unlock. Batteries last a long time. I replaced my first lock batteries at 2 1/2 years only because I thought I should. Lock was still working fine with no hint of power loss. Easy to program and set up temporary access for people other than owners such as repair people when you are not home. As mentioned, it does what is advertised. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Good product and easy to install. Home Depot even rekeyed for us for free at the store after pickup at Customer Service. We were told they only do this if you buy the lock from them. Very satisfied. May 10, 2016
