Can you just close the door and enter the code and then lock it? Or does the code only unlock it, meaning you must use the key to lock the door? Thank you!

Camelot Satin Nickel Keypad Combo Pack with Accent Lever is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Solution for Work Crews I'm a 64yo woman with some disabilities and I just bought a house. Had to get work done before moving in. The same day after the closing, I went to the house and installed this Schlage lock by myself. I assigned a lock code to each work crew so that they could gain access if I wasn't at the house. It was a perfect solution so that I could be packing at the old place (57 miles away) and the workers could get in and do their thing. When a crew completed their project, I just deleted their code from the lock. This was recommended by my realtor and I hope to pass it along to someone else. Note: when entering a new lock code or deleting one it is normal for the lock to beep after you press a key. Example to add a code first you enter the 6 digit master code, then press the Schlage key, then press 1. After you enter the master code the lock beeps, it will beep after you press Schlage, and again after you press 1. This is normal. It does not mean you have done something wrong. (Took me a while to figure that out).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keypad lock! This lock is very well made and very easy to install. Digital combination was easy to program. Key feature is a nice backup, but unless the battery is dead, not necessary.

If your current deadbolt/door opening system is properly installed, this should be a direct swap. Entering passcodes seemed simple enough. Adequate adapters provided for niche installations. Necessary templates for new installs provide. Took a bit a getting used to as this really is a normal deadbolt with the passcode substituted for the key. You still must turn the deadbolt. Everyone kept entering the passcode and expecting it to unlock itself...lol. Surprisingly, the instruction sheet was helpful and adequate. But its a well-built deadbolt/door opener system I would easily recommend to replace your current keyed deadbolt.

Schlage just makes the best locks and so easy to install, which is a good thing because the directions are horrible. There is a little disk on the inside that must be turned to the bottom or door doesn't lock properly. you think it is locked but just hit the schlage button and it opens. VERY important and not clearly noted! however we called for assistance and someone helped. We got my parents a set ans well. Its classy, well built, easy to use & program. Really a great lock. I love Schalge (just rewrite instructions)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a landlord I own a few Florida condos that I rent out. After tenants move out, I usually change the locks to be safe so that no previous tenants can gain entry. For my newest condo, I decided to use this lock as an alternative. I think it's a great idea. I have the programming code and an additional code to get in. When I rented the unit, I let the tenant pick their own code. When they move out, I'll delete that code. I also mentioned it in my advertisement as a selling feature. People love the idea of not worrying about losing their keys. I might want one of these for my house now.

The instructions look intimidating but it couldn't be easier to swap out the old hardware and upgrade to this attractive combo. Easy to add new personal codes; we both used our ATM pin numbers. No issues so far and I ordered a second set for the back door. I will get it re-keyed at a local Home Depot so one key will fit both locks.
