Will it fit with electronic door knob?

I have the Schlage electronic door knob, in which the original / old electronic Schlage dead bolt would not fit on the same door (the oversized electronic lock faces would hit each other). Will this fit on the same door with my electronic door knob?
Asked by: Thisguy
TO SCHLAGE CUSTOMER CARE: The standard distance between a dead bolt (bolt itself) and a door knob (the basket) is about 5 1/2" (center to center). I'm not sure where the 7" is coming from. SEE IMAGE #1. Maybe a better question to ask is: What is the measurement from the center of the dead bolt (the bolt itself) to the bottom most part of the outer face (the keypad side) AND / OR to bottom most part of the inner face (the knob side)? My Schlage electronic door knob is 4" to the top most outer face (the keypad side - SEE IMAGE #2) and is 3" to the top most part of the inner face (the knob side - SEE IMAGE #3 ). Both measurements from the center of the basket. The maximum space this leaves for for this electronic deadbolt to fit on the door with the electronic door knob is 1 1/2" to the bottom most part of the outer face (SEE IMAGE # 4) and 2 1/2" to the bottom most part of the inner face (SEE IMAGE # 5.) Both measurements from the center of the bolt. Note: Schlage electronic doorknob shown in the images with a STANDARD / NON-ELECTRIC deadbolt on top. I'm asking if this Schlage touchscreen deadbolt with alarm (#BE469NX) will fit on this door above the electronic doorknob. Previous versions of Schlage's electronic deadbolts would not fit in this application.

How easy is this lock to install.

Asked by: Anonymous
This lock is very easy to install and configure, both the hardware and software. It takes less than an hour. I got tripped up by the "handedness" of my default lock configuration, but a call to customer service solved that quickly. Schlage customer service is excellent -- professional and knowledgeable.

If you go to the Schlage website under Support you can find the manual. But not sure how you get your programming password. Probably contact Schlage and find out.

I like being able to push one button while leaving the house to lock the door. Also have the Wink Hub 2 (so we can lock/unlock it from our smartphones) and an Amazon Echo Dot (so can use voice control to lock the front door). It's smart enough to not allow you to unlock the door so no burglar could yell at Alexa to open it. We also have it set up through a Wink Robot so when we open the front door it turns on the living room lights. We also have it set up to text/email us when one of the kids using their code. The only extra thing we did was add orange stickers on it so we could see that it was locked when we passed by it. See picture. Eventually we could remove those when we memorize which position is locked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome lock! I love this lock! I have them on 2 of my doors and they are great! You can add many user codes so nobody has to use the same one and you can specify which code will notify you instantly when it is entered. Very convenient! They can be locked/unlocked remotely and a temporary code can be set up remotely also. I purchased these when I purchased my home so I wouldn't have to worry about giving out keys and ever having to change out the lock again! If someone doesn't need access, just delete their code. The built in alarm features are great too. When I'm done remodelling, I will have these on all my exterior doors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid Schlage - Zero Customer Assistance when needed Purchased unit in June 2014. In February 2015, it stopped working and would only beep. Called Schlage customer service with all info on original box. They said it was not in warranty and couldn't help. So why pay $200 for a door lock from Schlage? Don't waste your time or money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor battery design While the design and ease of installation are top notch, the battery tray location is not ideal. If you use alkaline batteries, you run the risk of them leaking battery acid. (and trust me all alkaline batteries leak at some point). Since the control circuit board is immediately below the battery tray, the acid ruins the controller board rendering it useless. I know why the added the battery tray at the top (to make room for the typical door knob), Schlage just needs to seal the battery tray from the rest of the controller board.
