Problem locking door

This question is from Flair Satin Nickel Keyed Entry Lever-DISCONTINUED
Asked by

I have 4 F51 FLA619 locking door levers in my house for some time. Two of them now have the same problem. If you lock the door from either side of the lock (key on one side, or turn button on the other) with the door in the open position and then try to slam or close it shut, the tongue becomes fixed and can't be depressed to close. You are forced to have the door in the unlocked position to close it and then need the key to lock it from the outside. Can you help me fix them so the lock operates properly

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid and attractive Really liked the finish and solid construction of this entry lever - we installed it on a new set of french doors. One thing I didn't like: the interior lever still moves even when the knob is locked; this easily fools you into thinking the door is unlocked! We've locked ourselves out a few times as we've closed the door behind us. So, we have to note what position the knob is in (horizontal or vertical) to tell us whether the door is locked or not. The interior lever should be immovable when the knob is locked. We also installed the matching keyed deadbolt for a complete set and are very pleased with the look.. November 22, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good find Except for the free moving shield on the non screw side of the handle, these look like expensive door handles. They should have glued them down so that nothing moves except the handle. The reversible handles are pretty tricky and required my handyman's expertise, but otherwise, they were very easy to install. Be sure to order all levers with the same key so you do not have to pay for the locksmith to rekey your doors. I learned that one the hard way. May 8, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by matches the other hardware nice the interior hardware much better. No instructions to help with changing from left handed to right, must use key just right. The actual locking mechanics rough and doesn't feel like very well made. would not use on a primary door that gets used alot. June 26, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it; works perfect Just as expected; very happy with product however I do NOT like the fact that I MUST put in a stuff under Your Review -- my time is valuable and the summary should be enough! September 7, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I've purchased these before It is a good product and serves it's purpose. I have three doors in one room and needed an item to vive with the other two door handles. this one does. June 9, 2011
