I see on the Schlage website that I can buy a 5" backset to use with a keyed entry doorknob. Can I do that online or do I have to go to the store to special order?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great but QA is a problem... I've recently bought 4 of these and all 4 UNLOCKS when I turn the knob. Which is dumb. I want it to open the door but not have it automatically switch to the unlocked position. How can you tell? Is it the serial number? Should I just test them in the store until I find one that doesn't do that? I didn't have this problem in the past. April 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not all the same I bought three of these and two of them automatically unlock when you open the door but the third one lets you open the door but it remains locked. If you step outside and close the door it locks you out. This doesn't work for me. October 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great looking and strong Sturdy and secure construction. Looks great. The Schlage reviews written on here are funny. Made a habit of locking yourself out? The turn lock is not invisible! Just unlock it before you exit! Horizontal means it's unlocked. I can exit my car while it's running without taking it out of gear first. Doesn't mean I'm going to just because the equipment allows me to. It's not the knob's fault! April 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great value for the intelligent shopper I installed this entry set on a garage door at my lakehome, replacing an old "el-cheapo" model that locked itself seemingly at will. For the price, this lock seems like a very high-quality choice. It was very easy to install, looks great, and feels quite solid. It does not, however, include mounting hardware for steel doors (just wood screws), so I had to reuse the old machine screws. June 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lock out hazard Didn't notice until after the lock was rekeyed and installed that due to the 'panic' feature you can easily lock yourself out of the house. If the inside knob is locked, it will still open and you will be unable to re-enter without the key. Could not find this information on the packaging. July 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Deal on a Great Product This elegant door knob is the perfect addition to our home. It is solid and easy to install. I use it to lock precious items away from the kids. So far I am very pleased with this door knob's aesthetic value and safety. November 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Returning immediately! Did not want a keyed knob with emergency release. I can just hear the doorbell ringing when the kids lock themselves out because they did not understand the door was locked but the knob still allowed them to go outside!!!! Not a great child proof entry lock! This feature was not noted on the package. October 15, 2012
