Answer:
Look on the package - often times the store has locks keyed the same in the same batch. It is an alpha numeric code that should match if you want to use all your keys in the same lock. Look on the package for the same codes - that way all keys you just purchased can open any of your locks - no adjustment needed.

I just now had this done at a Home Depot location, it only took the gentleman about 15 minutes to take care of it and the keys work just fine.

Answer:
If you are wanting to rekey this lock with a existing Schlage lock you can take your new lock to the Home Depot retailer with the receipt and request to have it keyed alike. You will need to take the key you already have from your existing lock, they will need the numbers on the key to key alike to your new lock. If you have any questions please call 800-847-1864.

I saw a question on here that Schlage answered that said "October 14, 2014
Schlage has made an enhancement to this option that if the door is opened from the inside, it automatically unlocks from the outside allowing re entrance". Is this something that it has changed to, or is it an option you have to enable when you install?

It is the default... it is not an option... you don't need to enable when you install. It comes that way. That is something we changed to. We used to have an "Emergency Exit" (model F51) Where the thumb turn, if it was locked (horizontal) you can still exit from the interior, but it would still be locked on the exterior knob. We transitioned to a "Safe and Easy Exit (model F51A - typically has a yellow label on the package - FB50 models should now have this feature if they have a yellow label). This model Read More

Since the knob set stays locked when you exit the house don't you run the risk of locking yourself out?

Answer:
If Schlage has "enhanced" this by allowing the turning of interior knob to unlock door.....can this be changed by consumer back to old way? I don't like the fact that i can't grab the knob inside and give it a quick "twist" to make sure it's locked because it just ends up unlocking door.

Yes, I've done that myself. Its something to get used to. I advise everyone to have a hide-a-key somewhere regardless what lock they have and for sure with schlage.

Answer:
Even though the larger print on package states Grade 1... elsewhere I see in smaller print that only the
deadbolt is rated Grade 1. The other lock in the combo pack (doorknob lock) is rated Grade 2.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Schlage - Security and Elegance in exterior door locks Every door in my new (to me) house has a separate key. Five (5) exterior doors with five (5) different keys. What a hassle. What was the previous Owner thinking? The existing locks have neither worn nor weathered well. I purchased Schlage locks to protect my new asset. Schlage is well known for its rugged, elegant, and superior security. Installation is quick, but some simple wooden door modification is required as Schlage strikes are larger and thicker than the competition. Plus, 3" screws add increased strength in the door jamb strike. I could not be happier. September 13, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this. My husband had this installed on the door of our new home in no time flat. September 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Finish did not hold up. The outside of the deadbolt looks horrible and needs to be replaced February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy lock set This is a quality lock set. Easy to install and secure. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Door Locks We purchased 2 of the combo packs from Schlage, door knob and deadbolt together. In one word, AWESOME. Easy to install, looks great. The lock code numbers were simple to match so 1 key fits all the locks. Most important, my wife is very pleased!!! August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Safe, easy and solid I replaced our old door knob after some problems and haven't had any issues. This is easy to install and looks great. It's worth the money in my opinion. August 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice quality product Easy to install except that the latch being replaced was non-mortise and the new latch required a mortise inset. August 2, 2016
