Customer Questions & Answers

If it has up to 19 codes in memory, how do I know that more than one code is programmed or not?

I mean I would prefer to have only one code programmed with the rest of 18 codes disabled at all times. I need to keep affirmed instantly that there is only one code in memory. If more than one code is programmed, there should be a warning light so I will know if it is acceptable to me or not.
Asked by: Gumby
The deadbolt comes with 2 preset codes. I suppose if you want to be sure that you didn't mistakenly leave a code set, you should follow the instructions to reset the system back to factory settings. You will then be sure to just have the 2 preset codes that you can manipulate however you like.

what backup plan if the touch pad does not work since there is no key?

Asked by: mrwonderful
Go buy a 9V battery and place it against the little tabs that stick out below the thumbturn and it will let you enter the code to unlock. You should then replace the battery and no need to re program, all your codes will remain active.

Jump Start Connector

Can I get more details on the Jump Start Connector. Never have seen this before. Thanks:)
Asked by: sqkastner
There is Emergency Jump Start Contacts on the outside Lock, incase the battery is fully dead. (use a known good 9 volt battery) See the attached picture. If your lock’s low battery icon is lit, replace the battery as soon as possible. For more details, see page 9 of attached user manual. This Lock works very well, and I love it's features.

What happens when battery die?

If it runs with a battery, then what happens when that battery dies and you're not aware of it? How would you be able to get in the house if it's not operational?
Asked by: Beastly
There is a port you can plug in a battery to supply power if your battery goes.

I installed 2 units, one on the back entry and one on the front door. Smooth operation, simple installation and set up, and they look and feel like high quality locks. Battery changes are very simple and don't require any disassembly. Just slide off the cover and plug in a new 9V. It beats carrying keys around, and I like the fact that it has multiple user codes, so if you have to have someone access your house, they can do that without using your code.

Now the electronics are not working. Not a battery problem, as the light functions, but number keys do not. I really liked this lock until now, but for the price, I am submitting a warranty claim. Hope Schlage will honor it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It can be drilled from bottom, left side; just saw the video..... It installed fine, looked great; then I saw a video on YouTube where a guy takes a drill to the bottom, left side and opens it. Schlage front plates and keyholes are made from hard material that cannot be drilled. Small, battery powered drills are quiet and in this video it only took about 3 seconds. After putting inside deadbolt restraints on 3 door locks, I decided on this one so that the garage remote would not be the only point of outside access in case the power was out, or remote malfunctioned. I was very disappointed to see this because Schlage's interior parts are made better than the others. Why didn't they use the hard, non-drillable material for the vulnerable bottom frame. If they had, this would be a great lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well thought out keyless deadbolt This a very well thought out deadbolt It has an easy programming method and allows multiple codes for multiple users. Very easy to install. Since there is no key, only users with a code can unlock. If the battery dies, you can press a 9v battery to the outside of the unit to power it up so you can unlock it and change the battery You can turn the sound on and off. Some advice: Save the owners manual incase you forget the code because it has your default codes on it. Also there is a lot of information packed into the short directions so read them carefully so you don't miss anything. Please see my video for a demonstration

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice great lock. I had to buy a new lock because the ex broke in to my place. I had a deadbolt but she had a bumpkey or something (or a locksmith come in) This lock has no key, so there is nothing to pick, lose, key for someone to find while you are in the shower......etc. Since then, no problems. There is a battery in it.. but it does not turn the bolt. You do that yourself. I am ok with this because it is one less thing to fail. The only negative is that you have to enter the key to leave. This isn't really a negative. You would need a key for a deadbolt too. i bought a matching handle door in nickel. Same Camelot style. It looks great. There is a button for a light on this, which helps at night. Lock feels substantial.
