Answer:
Yes you can but it's already a 60" x 36" pan. If you have to you use a little extra thinset under the Styrofoam to maintain the gradual slope. If your infill is too high when you dry fit then cut it down. If your infill is too low float it with thinset (remember to use non modified thinset) I mix it to fake soar cream consistency, not the real stuff. That's too thick to install the Kirdie. All the curbs I find in tile stores are 4" wide. The Kerdi curb is 41/2" wide. can the curb be cut to 4" width? If not what is the construction method to apply the available curbs?

Answer:
I usually cut about 3 1/2" off the height. The tiled curb ends up 5 3/4"-6". I have cut the width also but I've then thinsetted a 1/4" backer board to it to cover the voids before Kirdie. You could cut the middle out and thinset it together or use a couple ripped 2"x4"s to 2"x3" and sheet them

Yes but Schluter does not have a 45 degree inside or outside corners. I overlapped my Kirdie on the curb in both directions and the tech rep told me to cut a square with a slice to the center and then you can make a 45 degree inside bottom corner. It doesn't work so well for the top of the curb inside corner but with the overlaps and the Styrofoam curb I wasn't too concerned. If the water goes to the top Read More

Answer:
Yes. You can trim it to any size you like as long as it is smaller than 48" on one side and you trim equally from both sides to remain the same drainage slope. (9 inches).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Schluter Kerdi Shower Kit The shower kit is easy to install, provides a more leak proof system and saves time and labor. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing product! Even better support! Yes, it's expensive. But you're making an investment here. I installed this product after spending quite a bit of time researching and looking at my options. Per the directions, I completed a flood test after installation. Unfortunately, I applied thinset a little too thick in some areas, causing it to leak. I contacted to Schluter about the issue and they sent someone TO MY HOUSE who fixed the issue by applying another layer of Kerdi over the pan and redoing my seams. They were the nicest people to work with and even gave me a few bonus supplies for future projects. I can't say enough good things about this product or about this company. Schluter makes excellent products and stands behind them. Those two traits are hard to find. So please, spend the extra money if you're going to tackle a project like this. You won't regret it. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My add on shower system for my master bath upgrade. this sluter shower kit came with a cd to watch the installation . the nice thing about it is that you only have to use regular drywall because of the sluter membrane which when installed properly you can even run the shower before you even tile. The floor pan made tiling very easy and uniform as there were no worries of drainage pitch. We are very pleased with a 4 x 4 foot shower stall which is much roomier than our old fiberglass insert. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice kit This being my first shower install, I wanted to give myself every advantage to end up with one that looked good, sloped properly, and didn't leak. The Kerdi kit did that. Other than the tile, thinset, and faucet, everything was in the package. The dvd instructional video was helpful. That being said, if I were to install another shower, I would probably not go this route at this price. May 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Schluter shower kit First time user and was pleased with fit and function of the kit. Only problem I found was the fact that Home Depot sells the kits but didnt have the thinset called for by schluter in stock though I did find some ditra set at another store on the way home. Plus it would be nice to just go to the store and get one instead of waiting a week for order.. May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worth it for the peace of mind Since this was the first shower I installed I was nervous to follow the instructions exactly. It took longer than I expected but once finished the quality was better than I could have done without the kit. It's design was foolproof and gives a great result. December 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product and support I installed this kit with my father, having never done bathroom work or tile work before. This particular bathroom was in a finished basement, with a concrete slab. The directions and supporting videos made this an job a little easier. I needed to modify the 48'x48' down to 36"x36" and adjust the curbing length as well. This product cut easily and cleanly with a utility knife and handsaw respectively. This was intended to be an open corner shower, so I needed to purchase another length of curb from a tile store, as the kit only comes with one. The roll of waterproofing membrane was more than enough for my use. My only suggestion is to apply it to the thinset on the walls quickly while it's sufficiently wet, or you may have issues with adhesion. December 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great way to rehad a shower The Kerdi-Shower kit makes rehabbing a shower or converting a bath tub to shower a simple project. It is even a Do It Yourself capable project. You no longer need to be concerned about a leaking base and working with rubber sheets or metal pans. This is a very KISS way to install a shower. November 10, 2015
