is there a track on the bottom edge to keep the water from leaking out?

This says trackless but it looks like it has a track on the bottom. Do you really need those plastic gaskets on the vertical edge of the doors? Are there bumpers where the door closes?
thanks

Answer:
Yes. There is a metal strip that is glued on the tub. I think it maybe to prevent water leaking and also to keep the door track stable. Its not really a track for the door to slide in. The sliding mechanism is at the top. There is a plastic bumper where the door closes.

What is the size of the box containing this shower door? I'm trying to establish if a small SUV will be big enough to pick it up from the store.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Quality Product. This purchase met all expectations. This is a very high quality product given the wide array of options on the market. It was the final infall for our newly remodeled bathroom. The manufacturer's description is silent on the issue of 'out-of-plumb' installations, so I asked Home Depot to check on this. It does have some adjustability for minor out-of-plumb walls. My problem was small so the install was fine. If you install this yourself, use a torque wrench for the door roller bolts rather than the "ratchet" recommended. You can be a little more accurate with the tension. We think the door is very nice looking. Door movement is nearly silent and it does not leak anywhere. Allow 2 hours (+) for install. Taking a quality photograph of a glass shower door was more difficult than the install. This still does not do it justice. January 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stunning Shower Doors We purchased these doors to install as replacement in a bathroom remodel. It was just the perfect touch and was a wonderful addition. The doors are nice quality and very sleek in design. November 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by unclear instructions The instructions for this item are not clear and miss some steps and end up wondering where and how to install some parts, so you have to figure it out yourself, also the parts are not labeled the some in the instructions and parts box, that makes it dificult to figure out Which screw or part to use. IOther than that the door looks very nice once installed. February 24, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by by lots of silicone caulk I said yes to recommend only because there is no "not sure" leaks all over the place if you don't caulk all the plastic edging. And I mean on the top of the edging on the glass; because the water seeps donw into the plastic edging and up over on the outside; and on the bottom where it meets the bathtub. You have to caulk every thing on the glass also. If you're not careful when you caulk it's a mess. The silicone leaves a residue on the glass and it's very difficult to remove. To clean the doors you have to remove the edging on the outside to reach the "void" area. overall it's a beautiful door, poor design to resist leaks June 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase every We have put a lot of things together in our life, but this one was the worst. The directions were useless. the part numbers didn't match the numbers on the directions.I called about one part that was in the box as to where it went the person I spoke with said they failed to put it in the directions & a lot of people were calling about it.We paid about 200.00 more for this shower door thinking it was better . Big mistake. July 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice door for the price This was the cheapest "trackless" door I could find in this thickness. I don't know anything about the installation, since I hired someone to install it. The bottom metal piece that keeps the door on the top track is only on one end of the door. I think it should be on both ends because after heavy use this weekend, the door did get off track. It was easy to put back on the track, but I thought the design could be a little better hence the 4 stars. The door is very good looking and sturdy/heavy. July 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Instructions Need to be Re-Written Love the product but the instructions need to be re-done. Had me drill holes too large for the stated screws, no instructions on installing the decorative stteel rail that rides along the bottom of the moving door, and there are several steps where you must go backwards to move forward. Install time overall for me was at least 6 hours. July 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Shower/Tub Doors on the Market!!! The glass doors are substantial and has the clearest viewing glass than doors costing considerably more. Would highly recommend this product. July 22, 2014
