The adhesion doesn't come close to "medium". I've used post-it notes with stronger glue. After first taping, I had to go around and reapply half the tape. It's still popping off the moulding as I'm painting. It doesn't seem to do anything significantly better in blocking paint. Huge waste of time and money. Never been disappointed in a 3M product before.

I have tried many different kinds of masking tape and the Scotch-Blue Delicate Surface Painters Tape is the best I've ever used. I am a Model Railroader and use an airbrush for painting my locomotives and rolling stock and have always had problems with edge bleeding until I tried Scotch-Blue. I've been using it for about a month without a single problem. It needs minimal pressure to adhere and I've never had any bleeding or paint lifting. I have use it for 1/32" pin striping with absolutely no pleading.
I'm a 50 year Model Railroader and have been using an airbrush for over 30 years. Simply the best masking tape I've ever used.

Used 3M #2080EL to mask off my hardwood flooring from painting molding and it left residue after being applied for less than 48 hours. So, not sure what I'll clean it off with, but it is definitely there!

After reading too many reviews that said this didn't work and seeking something other than free handing it (I stink at that...tried it), I decided that I would take what others had done with this product to make it work.
Sooooo, knowing that my prep skills were good (painted a good zinsser primer over oil based paint to get good adhesion of the latex paint), I went for it. The primer was at least a few days dried.
1. The tape was laid down with the intention that painting of all coats would be done in a day or two at most so I could peel it up quickly (don't leave it on for longer than necessary).
2. The tape was burnish well just before I painted an area (rubbed well to adhere).
3. The first paint I put down (just over the tape on the side with the tape and extending just 1/4 or so beyond the tape was the exact same color as the tape was sticking to. This would SEAL off any bleed
through that I might have missed with burnishing.
4. When that was dried I went for two coats of my paint. I did not glop it on; i was conservative because I knew a second coat was coming and I wanted as little bleed through as possible.
5. The tape was peeled up within a couple of days with just a spot here and there that required touch up. I peeled the tape back on itself to prevent any paint removal (worked like a charm)...NO PAINT

I've been a Pro boat painter and varnisher for many years. Used 3M Blue tape for most of the years. It seems that the Blue is getting worse and worse. It leaves behind the adhesive and the requires extra work in detailing the boat. It is especially true on gel-coat and on sanded surfaces. If it is not detailed very thoroughly and carefully the dust and dirt will stick to the adhesive causing nasty looking tape width dark lines and irate calls from yacht owners. The extra time to detail is really a pain and unneeded extra expense for the owners or myself if it is a flat rate job. I'll be finding a new tape to use.

We still have tape with the small hole in the middle, and have a dispenser that is useful for long straight lines. We can no longer find the old tape that fits that dispenser. The new tape with the large hope in the middle does not have a dispenser. We love the tape, but miss the dispenser.

This was terrible. Used it to tape some plastic to the wall to protect from paint over spray. Very light gauge plastic but all of it fell down. Would only use the regular blue in the future. Wasted my money on 3 rolls of this stuff.
