I received a free roll of scotch blue original Multi surface tape in the mail awhile back. I decided to try my hand on the many thrifty items I have in my garage. As The 4th of July was approaching, I chose a patriotic theme. I used the tape to paint a flag on an old window, chair, suitcase, shutter, old window screen and shovel. For the most part I was pleased with the results. There was some paint bleed under the tape & also some paint came off when I peeled the tape off. I think if I had the scotch blue edge lock or delicate surface tapes, this wouldn't of been an issue. Needless to say, the items sold very fast & I'm looking forward to trying the other tapes & making more items.

I am highly disappointed with the quality of the tape. This is was my first time painting project and I decided to paint half the walls of my entire 1200 sq.ft condo. Being risk adverse, I made sure to splurge on what I thought would be quality tape and purchased a few rolls of the ScotchBlue⢠Painter's Tape Multi-Surface with Advanced Edge-Lock⢠Paint Line Protector 2093EL. I read and followed the instructions to test on a spot first; I placed a piece of tape on the wall and after a few hours I removed the tape which came off perfectly fine. As a result I proceeded to tape all necessary walls and baseboards. I was absolutely horrified when I went to proudly remove the tape from such a large painting project and revealed chunks of paint and drywall torn off the walls. The tape was supposed to protect the walls I wasnât painting but instead created a nightmare as I now have to sand the chunky drywall and somehow find a decent color match (previous owners chose color and didnât leave a can to color match).
To make things even worse, the tape was extremely difficult to take off in certain areas and came off in tiny little bits further increasing the time of this painting project.
Painters beware â this product is terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BubbleGirl Not just for painting
I recently had a cast on my arm and leg. In order to bathe I needed to cover them with a plastic bag and wrap with tape. Since your tape is designed for wet paint the water did not effect it which keep my cast dry. Also the tape did not rip up the plastic bag which allowed me to reuse them. Thank you for your product. It made getting better a little easier.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by CB1121 Does NOT remove cleanly
I recently repainted our bathroom and was very upset when I tried to remove the tape I had placed along the edge of the ceiling and wall. The tape ripped out not only chunks of the wall paint but also the paint along the ceiling. It's rather frustrating to think you're finished working on a project only to discover that you have to go back and redo a lot of it because the tape you were using screwed it up.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by homedepot dont buy HDX Tape, buy scoth blue
dont buy HDX tape. it does not stays glued to the surface for more than a few minutes. by the time you are done with taping your area, you tape has started falling off the wall and trim etc...
spend the extra money and pay for the scotch blue branded tape that you had always used before, its worth the money and time and a nice finish on your paint.
