Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst product I am highly disappointed with the quality of the tape. This is was my first time painting project and I decided to paint half the walls of my entire 1200 sq.ft condo. Being risk adverse, I made sure to splurge on what I thought would be quality tape and purchased a few rolls of the ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape Multi-Surface with Advanced Edge-Lock™ Paint Line Protector 2093EL. I read and followed the instructions to test on a spot first; I placed a piece of tape on the wall and after a few hours I removed the tape which came off perfectly fine. As a result I proceeded to tape all necessary walls and baseboards. I was absolutely horrified when I went to proudly remove the tape from such a large painting project and revealed chunks of paint and drywall torn off the walls. The tape was supposed to protect the walls I wasn’t painting but instead created a nightmare as I now have to sand the chunky drywall and somehow find a decent color match (previous owners chose color and didn’t leave a can to color match). To make things even worse, the tape was extremely difficult to take off in certain areas and came off in tiny little bits further increasing the time of this painting project. Painters beware – this product is terrible. June 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed it took paper layer right off new DW Keep paint out....but took new dry wall paper off as well...created a little more repair work after original painting. November 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by High Price: Mediocre Performance I thought scotch tape was the best. Opened a new roll to mask baseboard and it either won't stick or comes up after it is pressed down. Prety poor performance for 7 dollars a roll. I don't recommend it November 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dont buy HDX Tape, buy scoth blue dont buy HDX tape. it does not stays glued to the surface for more than a few minutes. by the time you are done with taping your area, you tape has started falling off the wall and trim etc... spend the extra money and pay for the scotch blue branded tape that you had always used before, its worth the money and time and a nice finish on your paint. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Multiple uses for painter's tape ScotchBlue painter's tape is my only choice for all of my protective household detailing projects. Of course I use it to cover all of my trim when painting. Last year I used multiple one inch sections to outline a giant heart shape on our bedroom wall and then stamped smaller hearts inside of it. (I have photos.) I use it to hold down glued sections of wall paper that need to be glued again. I have also used it to cover our new granite counter top so I wouldn't scratch it when I added grout to the back splash. Most recently I used this tape to protect the wood around all of my tarnished brass hinges as I refinshed them. I also have a very exciting idea for your company but I will only reveal it to your CEO. July 31, 2014
