Rain is good to wash the fertilizer into the lawn. I water the lawn about two to three days after I apply the fertilizer unless it rains first.

Actually I believe you WANT to add moisture after applying -- it helps the 'food' stick to the surface of the grass -- at least I believe that's what the instructions say! I got the lawn wet before and after application -- hope this helps you!

Answer:
Bermuda lawns should grow back with out seeding. But some types of grass do need to be seeded. Fertilize the lawn and bare spots. Water the fertilizer in to the soil within two to thee days. Apply the seed about 10 day later.

12.6 lb. 5,000 sq. ft. Turf Builder Lawn Food is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 532.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turf Builder lawn fertilizer Product is great but the fertilizer section at the garden center at this location is covered in bird droppings and other dust and stuff! Couldn't find even one bag that wasn't covered in something. Will go to Lowe's next time. Their stores seem much cleaner!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scott's Fertilizer I bought and laid down the green up fertilizer (the one that is guaranteed to green up your lawn in ~3 days) in early spring and then again last months and as of today my lawn is disaster, with brown spots all over my lawn(dead grass). How do I course correct this problem and recoup my losses...I've been a faithful user of Scott's fertilizer and never run into this problem. You folks need to caution consumer's on the nitrogen content in extreme heat conditions, for it acts as an inhibitor. My beautifully manicured lawn is now the worst lawn in my neighbourhood. I am extremely dissatisfied and looking for answers and solutions by the experts at Scott's I look forward to a prompt reply. Sincerely,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's the best out there, don't be fooled by imitators! This lawn fertilizer takes top honors. If you live in the Midwest, all you need to do is apply this according to the directions, give the lawn water when needed (about 1-2 hours a night during dry periods), and voila! You'll have the best lawn on the block!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff! I've used Turf Builder on several lawns over the course of 50 years. I have never been disappointed. The weed and feed product didn't work for me, but the plain Turf Builder has always made the lawn lush and green. I get a kick out of the reviews that say it burned up the lawn or, in one case, it made the lawn magically full of clover. You would really have to overapply this fertilizer by a lot to see any burning and as far as the clover goes, well, that person sure can work some magic with a spreader and some fertilizer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Fertilizer available I have use this product the last 7 years. At times I experiment with other fertilizers. They don't compare to Scotts. My grass is a deep dark green all year round
Date published: 2016-08-30
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit and Miss Product I have used this product in south Florida with success, however, in Ohio, a more hard clay environment, this does not seem to work; even with lots of rain and watering. It has a high nitrogen content which should make the grass greener but that doesn't seem to be the case in our area; or home. And, I have two pallets of sod down, 200 square feet, that this had little affect in two applications eight weeks apart. It's an affordable product to try, and a known brand, but, like I said, in the Cincinnati area of clay dirk yards this didn't seem to give any noticeable results.
