I'm going to overseed my whole lawn this fall, I'm worried about the "plus 2 weed control" will affect the grass seed to germinate. Please advise.

Answer:
No, we do not recommend using Scotts Turf Builder Winteguard with Plus 2 Weed Control on newly seeded lawns. If you apply the product first, do not seed for 4 weeks. If you seed first, do not apply the product until the new grass has been mowed at least 4 times. You can use Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard or a better option is Scotts Turf Builder Starter Food For New Grass.

We have planted new grass Spring 2013 and now have lots and lots of foxtail. We would like to get rid of the foxtail as quickly as possible. We don't know what to use and when to apply it for the best results.

Answer:
Turfbuilder Winterguard with Plus 2 Weed Control will not control grassy weeds like foxtail. On most cool season grass types foxtail can be prevented by applying Turfbuilder with Halts or Halts Crabgrass preventer in Early Spring before foxtail seeds begin to germinate.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Award winning lawn!! I have been using the Scott's fertilizer system for over 15 years. The instructions are right on the bag. If you want to have the healthiest best looking lawn around just DO IT!! There really is a difference. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Old Reliable Father has been using this on his lawn for years, and he has always had the best lawn in the community. Now I am taking care of the lawn, and plan on continuing the practice. September 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by How to use Can i apply scotts winterguard weed & feed early fall and late fall in the same year September 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Prepare your lawn for Winter! winter guard with weed & feed gets your lawn looking great and healthy while preparing it for the winter season. I prefer Scoots fertilizers as the product(NPK) is all in 1. Your lawn gets even distribution and even growth. Great product! Take care of your lawn with this product. September 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Winter is over My Lawn is Excellent I liked the early results in December. But when the spring came the lawn looks like a painting its outrageously thick and green like a Crayola crayon throughout. Minimum weeds and coincidently no ants, yet my neighbors both called in exterminators (results from using summerguard twice July and August). The results from using Scotts products, correctly, are well worth the effort and investment. Apply and sit back and watch the grass grow!!!!! May 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Killed my lawn I've been using Scotts products for years and have always been very happy, until this spring. I applied this product as I always have and this spring my lawn has the burned looked of poor fertilizer. Very upset with the product. I had the best looking lawn in the neighborhood, but now it's the worst. April 9, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work as advertised I bought 2 of the large bags to fertilize my whole lawn. $95 later my lawn is greener, but all the weeds I was trying to kill are also growing better instead of dying. My lawn was installed last fall and there are lots of different kinds of weeds. Many are labeled right on the weed and feed bag that it is supposed to kill. I followed directions on the bag. Applied when dew was on lawn in a rotary spreader set at 3 1/2. In all I give it 2 stars since it failed to kill any of the weeds in my yard. September 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work We used the 4-Step and have used it for years with mixed results. This year our back yard has been overcome with chickweed! During the summer I thought there might be a little improvement but in Sept-Oct, it came back with a vengeance. We used the Winterguard hoping to knock it back before winter. We put it down in the morning with damp grass and got misting rain about 36 hours later. The weeds are now even worse. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] January 9, 2016
