Product was easy and quick to assemble, cutting of lawn was fast & easy. The only negative is that because of the design of the mower it leaves a wider swath along edges and sidewalks etc. than a power mower does. The lot we are using it on is small (2400 sf) so it is fine for that size plus the lot is level. Found it very easy to push and liked the ability of being able to adjust the cutting height of the blades and wheels.

I was looking for a mower that would be easy to lift and use by a 5'4" woman ( who wasn't able to lift her current rechargeable mower which weighs a ton). This mower was very easy to assemble, is lightweight and easy to move/lift, and is easy to store. It did a great job on my small yard (20' x20'). It is exactly what I was looking for. I haven't yet tried to change the cutting height, so can't comment on that part.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by STG1 Good for small jobs
Have only used once so far but did a great job given my yard is quite uneven and the grass was pretty long. For $119.00, did a better than expected job on my small lawn. Con, can not get very close to the edge; however, that's what a weed-eater is for.

Very good product... does the job very well.
Mower has different height adjustments which is very helpful. Blade quality is good too.

For the last 25 years I have owned a selection of gas mowers. Since gas mowers can put out as much polution as a car, I no longer wanted o breath in those fumes. I thought I would try the lawn mower of my childhood. What a pleasant surprise.
This new generation of push reel mowers is light and easy to push. The cut of the grass was excellent. Any one who has had to man-handle a gas mowers around garden obstacles knows they can be a bit of a beast. The reel mower was easier to push and very light to the transition between the front and back yards
The handle had a little more flex than I am use to but is more than sufficent to complete the task. The mower is light and responsive in handling & is very quiet when compared to a gas mower. No neighbour is going to complain if you used it early on a weekend morning. It is easy to adjust the high of the cut with lots of height positions available. The nature of a hand pushed reel does leave ripples on the cut grass, but they are minor and vanish after one day. I would not recommend it is your yard is not flat, but it is good even for the average sized flat lawn.
There may be a little more work with an electric weed trimmer for the edges of your lawn since the push reel mower can't extend over the edge of your lawn in the same way a gas mower can, but I have to say I am very pleased with the Scotts reel mower and recommend it to any one.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DiCar Works better on a nice even lawn
Putting it together was quick and it's not very heavy, so I can lift it up easy enough. I found it easy to manage but I will say the bar in front does push longer grass down before the blades can get to them so you have to go over it a few times in different directions. I think if you have a nice even lawn to begin with, it would work better. I just bought my house and the lawn was in rough shape but it's too small for a big gas mower so I'm going to keep trying the push reel mower. Also, it was noisier than I expected it to be but I added some oil and that seemed to help a little. If you're looking for a reel mower, I would recommend this one.

I agree with most of the reviews I read on this before purchasing the reel mower, with a couple of exceptions.
1) It cuts well and evenly,
2) It is light so it's easier to maneuver than a gas-powered push mower,
3) It does not cut tall grass and it does jam on sticks etc
4) Some reviewers said it's impractical on steep slopes, but we have a 1/2 acre yard with some steep parts and I found it easy to use on the hills because it's so light,
5) I have mowed the lawn every week since getting this, and it's not a chore as it was with the gas mower (plus I don't get covered in dust and ants).
6) The only thing I'd add, is that the height is controled by adjusting a plastic bar in a metal bracket. On the tallest setting (2 3/4 inches) there is very little contact area and the plastic bar wore through, so I have to keep it on a lower setting where it is stronger.
7) It is very easy to adjust and use. Not needing gas and oil actually made more of a difference than I expected. It's quick and easy.
