I loved this mower from the first day I assembled it (assembly was a little tricky). Using the mower was very easy, it did an excellent job cutting the grass and at first it seemed well built. After using the mower less than 10x times, the metal piece holding the handle broke off, making the mower unusable.

I was prepared to return this if I was not satisfied, but I love it! I have mowed my lawn 8 times so far and it is easy to push and cuts well. Some claim that these will not cut tall grass but I had no trouble cutting a few patches that were nearly one foot tall. Please note that this is a review of the Scotts mower purchased through Home Depot, a few years ago I purchased a reel mower at Menards and it was such a piece of junk that I donated it to Goodwill.

Great for a smaller, tight yard. We use this nimble push mower in areas where our riding mower can't get to easily, and it works great.

It is light, cuts well and is easy to store. I don't have to worry about storing gas or messing with power cords.

I bought this for a back-up but the gas mower started running strange(first cut of the year). I have to say it did just fine even me three year old son can push it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DiCar Works better on a nice even lawn
Putting it together was quick and it's not very heavy, so I can lift it up easy enough. I found it easy to manage but I will say the bar in front does push longer grass down before the blades can get to them so you have to go over it a few times in different directions. I think if you have a nice even lawn to begin with, it would work better. I just bought my house and the lawn was in rough shape but it's too small for a big gas mower so I'm going to keep trying the push reel mower. Also, it was noisier than I expected it to be but I added some oil and that seemed to help a little. If you're looking for a reel mower, I would recommend this one.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by njpmke Too much plastic in the critical parts
Just bought this yesterday and I have to return it. The grass I was cutting was a bit high, but with some effort I was able to mow through it. I expected that, and was actually impressed that I was able to do it. However, the piece that holds the wheels allowing you to adjust the mower height are made of plastic. This happens to be the same spot where a great deal of the force is applied. What happened to me was the plastic started turning into the metal, which destroyed it on the left side. This meant I had absolutely no control over the height of the mower on the left side, making it even harder to finish mowing.

I purchased this mower after reading lots of reviews and I couldn't be happier. I am saving money and the environment. It cuts really nice and is easy to put together. Its light and easy to push. I was tired of spending money on gas mowers that quit working or the carb goes bad in a year. Plus gas is 3.50 a gallon at least! This mower is worth the money over and over again. If you cut your yard on a regular basis you will not be disappointed. A few dandelions slipped through here and there but nothing major. I thought i would have to rake but it cuts its up real nice, no raking for me. So happy to reduce my carbon footprint and my dependence on fossil fuels also. Its a winner!!!
