Yes, although you may have to go over a spot several times from different directions to get the blades that bent out of the way.

Answer:
Reel mowers don't typically handle tall grass very well. However, the Scotts Classic 20" mower does have a maximum height setting of 3". As long as your grass is no more than 4" or 5" you should be in good shape.

Answer:
Yes, but you have to go back and forth sometimes to get a good cut. You may have to leave the blade on a higher setting, cut the grass, move the blade to a lower setting and cut the grass again.

Answer:
This grass-catcher removes within seconds and snaps back in place on the black bar that stretches between the small back wheels. The chain goes over the lower cross-bracing bar on the handle and hooks onto the bar that stretches across the catcher. Easy peasy. Good luck.

Answer:
Yes, the catcher is removable. In fact, when it is on it doesn't do a great job collecting clippings. There is no force to throw the fresh cut clippings into the back of the catcher so they all pile up in the front.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 225 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good to a point This destroyed the weeds and clover i had in my yard. Unfortunately, it was ineffective on the long grass. June 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great! I have a very large yard which is all Bermuda. We have always cut our lawn with a large rider but never liked the heavy mower on the yard. We purchased this reel mower and love it! It took me several passes to learn the feel and to keep a good pace but love the finished product. It will be my bi-weekly workout for the summer! April 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very dissapointed I had really hoped that this mower would be an alternative to our electric mower and I thought that our 0.12 acre lot would be small enough for this mower to make sense but it did not work out. I did find out that our lot is much hillier than I thought. You have to mow the same area at least 6 to 8 times and the mower jammed up a few times. We used it once and then returned. For the right lot and used by a healthier more able-bodied person than myself, this mower would make sense, but not for me. I do think that it's a well-made and reliable mower. July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the job done It is easy to use and push. It cuts the grass really well. Exactly what we needed. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by need the right lawn This will work fine if you have a lawn that is well maintained (very few weeds and kept to a short height). Weeds quickly will outgrow the ability of a reel mower to cut them. This is how these products are designed, not a flaw with this particular product. If the grass/weeds are too high, a reel mower will just push them over rather than cutting them. You'll then need another mower to get them to the proper height before you go back to the reel mower. Good exercise though! June 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Old-fashioned grass cutting The mower was easy to assemble. It was bought because it reminded me of the olden days. It came with a grass catcher which for practical purposes is useless and already ended up in the garbage. The mower is easily pushed. It does not cut well when the grass is longer than about a quarter of the diameter of the cutting drum. Therefore, one does well to use the mower frequently. Also, because the wheels are necessarily outside of the cutting drum, the mower will not cut close to a wall. All in all, a good product if you want to migrate to a reel type mower. June 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Manual Reel Mower The grass catcher doesn't work well if mowing over broken ground. If you have to back up, the catcher collapses into itself and spills clippings. This is due to the lightweight mounting of the catcher. Not really a bad thing for the price, but something to be aware of. The mower was extremely easy to assemble, taking less than fifteen minutes. Works great for our purposes, cutting the grass while providing some small bit of physical activity. June 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the time and money The mower was easy to assemble and appeared to have the features that I wanted. It did not operate well at all. It did not cut grass well or evenly. The grass catcher did not work. It was the most disappointed that I have ever been in a product purchased from Home Depot. I did return it for a refund. The staff a the service desk that assisted with the refund let me know that many of this item had been returned. June 28, 2016
