Easiest spreader I've ever used. Found it on sale for 10.00, what a great deal. I was going to buy one anyway. The bags just snap on and off, no mess. Other people on here have complained about the cost of the fertilizer but not much more than buying single bags and spilling everywhere. Even the bags of fertilizer and weed killer were on sale. Quit being cheap and spend your money, you can't take it with you anyway. Ha Ha! Easy to setup and push. Spreader has an edge guard so you can use on edges without wasting product. All my weeds are gone and the grass is greener on my side of the fence this time. : - )

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PapaC It's good at what it does...but...
It is easy to use, but the Snap weed and feed, grass seed etc...are not as good a value as they should be. This also greatly limits customer choice. I wish a refillable bag was available. That way other products could be used...the same way various products can be used with other spreaders.

I was considering this product because of the apparent ease of use. When it went on sale at 20% off I Snapped one up. Yes, that is an intentional, shameless pun. Sorry. Anyway, it is easy to use and there's little chance of spilling the fertilizer (or other product). It's true that you're locked into Scott lawn and garden products as they're the only ones that fit, but they are of high quality so that's not a detriment to me. I've used it for the first lawn feeding of 2014 and it works as advertised. The fertilizer bag locks into place and the fertilizer is dispensed when the handle is pulled. There is no guesswork and no dial to set. Highly recommended.

We caught this spreader when it was on sale for $10, and so far it was worth every penny. it is super easy to load up the fertilizer you are going to use and it spreads evenly. I have debated holding on to a bag of fertilizer after we finish one just in case they stop selling them. Overall I would recommend this to someone.

I bought the Snap Spreader for $10 during a Home Depot sale figuring that if I didn't like it then I would only be out a few dollars. I love the spreader. It is incredibly easy to use and prevents spills (and resulting burned grass). The construction seems pretty solid. I gave it 4 stars not because of the spreader but because of the fertilizer selection. Make sure Scotts sells the fertilizer you want before you buy this.

Was able to get this spreader with a coupon threw scotts. So I went ahead and bought it. When I went to purchase the fertilizer. That's when the problems started. Noticed all the bags contain less amounts of fertilizer! Than the regular traditional bags of scotts do! By as much as 1000 sq. feet! Yet the snap packs are priced higher! Guess if you don't want the possible chance of touching the fertilizer. And spending more money. Than this product will work for you. Used it once. Don't get me wrong it works. But spending more to get less really isn't economical to me! Won't be using it again! Purchased a traditional scotts spreader!

I love the spreader, but the bags of fertilizer mix are expensive. So what I did, is use a knife and open the top of an old bag, and I go go Feed and Seed store and pick up whatever fertilizer mix, that I want to use. Its much cheaper and don't have the added cost for the special bags, even though they work great. I can reuse the bags over and over...

Save the bag and re-use. I cut a slit in the front top part of bag and being it can be removed and put back on....I've bought other "cheaper" fertilizer products and just dump other products into bag when original product was used up. I buy the weed and feed "Expert" brand from Walmart and keep in a large plastic shoe box...when I'm ready for fertilizer I dump the Expert into the Scott's bag and re-use the old bag. You'll never have to buy Scott's brand again if you just keep the bag and re-use. Today (May 2, 2014) Home Depot has this spreader on sale for $9.98 each. I purchased two for friends today, as I paid $29.98 for mine last month. I should have waited but who would have know they put it on sale for such a great price..... 2 for $19.96 (great bargain) Limit 2
