I was considering this product because of the apparent ease of use. When it went on sale at 20% off I Snapped one up. Yes, that is an intentional, shameless pun. Sorry. Anyway, it is easy to use and there's little chance of spilling the fertilizer (or other product). It's true that you're locked into Scott lawn and garden products as they're the only ones that fit, but they are of high quality so that's not a detriment to me. I've used it for the first lawn feeding of 2014 and it works as advertised. The fertilizer bag locks into place and the fertilizer is dispensed when the handle is pulled. There is no guesswork and no dial to set. Highly recommended.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PapaC It's good at what it does...but...
It is easy to use, but the Snap weed and feed, grass seed etc...are not as good a value as they should be. This also greatly limits customer choice. I wish a refillable bag was available. That way other products could be used...the same way various products can be used with other spreaders.

I love the spreader, but the bags of fertilizer mix are expensive. So what I did, is use a knife and open the top of an old bag, and I go go Feed and Seed store and pick up whatever fertilizer mix, that I want to use. Its much cheaper and don't have the added cost for the special bags, even though they work great. I can reuse the bags over and over...

Save the bag and re-use. I cut a slit in the front top part of bag and being it can be removed and put back on....I've bought other "cheaper" fertilizer products and just dump other products into bag when original product was used up. I buy the weed and feed "Expert" brand from Walmart and keep in a large plastic shoe box...when I'm ready for fertilizer I dump the Expert into the Scott's bag and re-use the old bag. You'll never have to buy Scott's brand again if you just keep the bag and re-use. Today (May 2, 2014) Home Depot has this spreader on sale for $9.98 each. I purchased two for friends today, as I paid $29.98 for mine last month. I should have waited but who would have know they put it on sale for such a great price..... 2 for $19.96 (great bargain) Limit 2

It was an easy setup, and easy to use. I have a small yard, so got two applications out of the first bag

I just used the SNAP for the first time. It is a great product. After using my old spreader my back would kill me because it was too low. The SNAP was easy to use and no back pain. One bag did my front yard which is a decent size, I thought I would need more. Don't under estimate the size of the bag.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TurfGal07 Easy to Use, Affordable, but some to be desired.
Previously being in the landscape business, I am used to larger, more heavy duty spreaders. I bought this for my home for it's ease of use. It's great for someone that wants something simple, and very easy to use. Just set, snap and roll.
If you have a bumpy yard like I do (from moles and elk) it's so lightweight that it bounces a bit much for my liking. I also found that when closing (stopping fertilizer flow) you need to keep moving as it will continue to pour a little bit which will cause too much fertilizer in one spot and burn your lawn.
In conclusion, it's a great product for anybody looking for something easy. I will continue to use it as it did it's main job and fed my turf, I've got a nice dark green lawn now and I love it!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cajinjoe Fast unit, quick and clean
The unit is quick to use and seams to funtion well.
The parts are very light weight and its hard to tell how long it will hold up. Bags are pricey, but I cut one open and used some of my old material by pouring it in the bag.
