I put it down as directed and then I got a spike in temperatures. It's been above 90 since application. Will it work?

Answer:
The daytime high temperatures should not go above 90 degrees. The Turf Builder Weed & Feed can cause damage to the lawn if applied when daytime temperatures exceed 90 degrees and it will not effectively kill weeds at this temperature. The weeds will shut down to conserve energy and will not absorb the weed control.

Answer:
The high temperature should not effect the product. However, keep in mind that you may not see the full effect for several weeks, so you must be patient, as the weed-killing component of the product is not immediate.

Howdy Dan,
The effectiveness of Roundup declines at temperatures above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
You could spray early morning to get best results.

Answer:
Howdy Dan,
For optimal results, Roundup® brand products are best applied at temperatures of 60 degrees F and above, and when the air is calm, in order to avoid spray drifting onto plants you don't want harmed.
However, the effectiveness of Roundup declines at temperatures above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not sure where you are located George, but I wouldn't do more than two applications in one year. I'm in Georgia and I found that if you see weeds remaining after 6-8 weeks after your first application you could apply a second round. I would only do that if the weed problem was still severe. I also like to apply that product when the ground is slightly damp/wet so that it adheres better on application.

I re-seeded my lawn 2 weeks back - to be precise, I re-seeded the bare spots left during my original seeding of the lawn (Yes, I am trying to create lawn from scratch). Some of the grass has started growing and some of it is still young. Is it okay to use this weed and feed? Will it affect my current lawn?

You can check package directions, but I would NOT do it yet. I don't think your new grass has had enough time to get established. To be on the safe side, I would wait another two weeks. It won't make that much difference in the weeds currently there, but it will make a difference in your new grass, which you do not want to stress at this early stage. For example, should there be intense watering for a few days before application? Should intense watering be started 24 hours after application? Thanks.

Answer:
Turf Builder Weed and Feed should be applied to a watered or wet from dew lawn this helps particles to stick to the weed leaves. Do not water your lawn or have expected rainfall for 24 hours after application. Then resume your normal watering regimen, especially if your temperatures are over 80 degrees.

I would have to refresh my memory by looking at the package, but I don't think I did anything special prior to or after application. Since I have an irrigation system that runs certain days of the week, I do recall timing the application to where the product could sit on the lawn for at least 24 hours prior to being watered. Of course, I also checked the weather forecast. Keep in mind that in the areas where you have weeds, the lawn WILL appear to be burned after the product takes effect. This was the case with my lawn, as I had large patches of clover and Creeping Charlie. Of course, the grass-only sections looked fine. Since it is summer, this appearance will persist somewhat until things cool off and grass can start to grow again. Depending upon how particular you are about this, you may want to wait until fall to apply it. Otherwise, get it over with now, knowing you are taking care of the weeds. Good luck. Read Less

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ruined my lawn, grass is dead and I still have weeds! Spent months roto-tilling and improving the soil before planting new lawn from seed. Within weeks it was infested w/ purslane & crabgrass which I think came from the GroMulch because I have never had purslane anywhere on my property. Waited the indicated time (obviously not long enough) before treating the lawn with the weed & feed, but the product immediately started to burn and kill my grass. The weeds were not effected by this product. Just my grass. I would not recommend this product, and am extremely disappointed that I now have to start over. June 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not good I've always like scotts product but this time I am very disappointed with this weed and feed product. It didn't kill the weeds but brown my lawn. August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kills the grass and not the weeds! Please oh please do not buy this stuff! Applied as directed and it killed my entire beautiful lawn! Called Scotts. They are reimbursing the cost of the weed and feed and paying for new grass seed and turf builder, but I have to do all the hard work! And have to wait 4 weeks before planting seeds. So my lawn looks like a joke! If I could give this negative stars I would! August 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by killed grass but fed the weeds we used this product at the beginning of the summer. the Grass had Weeds and crabgrass maybe 15 percent but in the spring it always looks very nice. now our grass is sparse and gone in patches and we have never had more weeds. in fact the week has taken over 85% of the lawn. it is never looked worse. This product detroyed our lawn and we wil have to start over with new grass July 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Performs as expected I am astonished to read any negative reviews of this product. I can only conclude that weather or over-application could have been the issue. In my case, I was first unable to find the Scott's brand of this product, unfortunately for me. I first purchased what claimed to be a similar product, made by Tru-Green. What a waste of money, as it actually FED MY WEEDS. That is the only reason I feel compelled to mention it in this review. The weeds doubled in size. I had mainly crabgrass, dandelions, and creeping Charlie. I had clover as well, but I didn't consider this undesirable. However, the folks who do my aeration and over-seeding do, as it apparently chokes out grass. Anyway, I got the product, and followed the package instructions, including the setting to use on my Scott brand spreader. I appreciate it that you give instructions for other brands of spreaders. I applied to the grass and crossed my fingers. The results are not automatic. After a couple of weeks, I noticed huge brown patches when I was mowing. This is actually a good sign, as it was where all of the weeds had proliferated. I now see almost no weeds whatsoever in my lawn. I do see violets, but these have never bothered me and they don't hurt anything. The bottom line is, I highly recommend this product and urge folks to follow instructions to the letter, including when to apply based upon prediction of rain. I applied mine during little chance of rainfall and two days prior to my irrigation system's next scheduled watering. Thank you, Scott's, for an excellent product. Also, thanks for considering the environment by NOT including phosphorus, something none of us need. It will take a while for me to get grass back into the bald patches, but that's okay as long as the weeds are gone. I will reapply late in the fall if necessary. July 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved our lawn!! Miracle product! We used the liquid, hook up to your hose weed and feed for years with no results. We ended up hand plucking dandelions for months and still they'd come back. We switched to the granuals this year and it worked remarkably well. We live in southern Idaho and have KBG. During a cooler week in June (75 degrees) we decided to try the granuals. We watered our lawn for 5 minutes to get the grass and leaves of the dandelions nice and wet, spread the weed and feed with our broadcast spreader then waited 72hrs (I think that was key) before watering or mowing. I didn't think we were going to have much success as I didn't see much of the weed and feed stuck on the leaves but boy was I wrong. The side of our house was completely overrun by dandelions a few weeks prior to applying the weed and feed. Now, about a month later, the side of our house is completely weed free! We love this product and will continue to use it. July 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Burned my lawn Only killed half the weeds, but burned my grass. Do not buy. June 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Happy at all I purchased 2 bags and a spreader, followed the instructions and did not see any results from this product. I wasted $45. I would look at a different product if you wanting to get rid of any weeds in the yard. May 27, 2016
