how many bags of 2 cubic feet make a cubic yard

Asked by: Anonymous
The CORRECT answer to the question posed is obviously 14, since one cannot purchase a 1/2 bag

Which is the better mulch and will hold color longer: the nature scapes mulch or the earth grow mulch?

Asked by: Anonymous
I have found that once I started to read the instructions on the bag for Earth Gro Brown that the color lasted longer. The bag instructions states" Turn mulch over after about 4-5 months to get a consistant color. Also do not apply mulch right before a rain 24-48 hours. I love this product. I am sorry to hear that my Home Depot in 2016 will not be carrying Nature Scapes any longer

How many bags of 2 cu ft mulch needed for 10 cubic yards or dirt?

Asked by: Confused
I would think it would matter how deep you intend to spread the 10 cubic yards of dirt. If it were six inches deep, your 270 cubic feet of dirt would cover an area of 540 sq. ft. If you put mulch three inches deep on it, you would cover 4 sq. ft. of the dirt with 1 cubic foot of mulch; hence you'd need 67.5 bags of 2 cubic ft.mulch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very little color loss after one year I used this mulch to cover a large portion of my back yard mainly to control weeds. I did use a high quality weed barrier fabric underneath. After the mulch was down for a full year, I added 10 more bags to fill in some thin areas. I could not even tell what was new and what was a year old after I applied the new bags. This mulch is a good buy at the regular price. Usually twice a year, Home Depot has this mulch on sale for $2.00 per bag. That's when a good buy becomes a great buy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something went wrong this year After using this product for several years without issues. This year has been a nightmare. I bought 50 bags for my yard and I spread it about a month ago. Now wherever I spread this mulch I have some plants growing. Seems it came with some seeds that sprouted perfectly in my yard. At the beginning I thought it was some seeds from a nearby garden, but none of my neighbors have the problem but me. So clearly it came with the mulch. I have spent hours trying to get rid of those but I have at least 20 more hours of work to get rid of all. Next time I am changing the brand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the Best! We have used this product for a few years now. When first put down in the beds and around the trees, it looks wonderful! This Scotts product keeps its color better than any other colored mulch I have used in the past. It is not a super fine mulch that needs replenishing every spring. You can go 2-3 years between applications and not worry about the fading of this brown color, as you would with a red mulch. Easy application that sets off any landscaping!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Best and the Worst. I read many reviews on this mulch. One said it was great. One said it was awful. Both told the truth. I bought 30 bags today and used them all. I opened the pallet and loaded the thirty bags myself. I would have two or three bags of absolutely great mulch, then a bag or two with odd color or trash in it. Not real bad, but not good. One bag had a rock in it bigger than my fist. I almost fell over when it came out. How did such a big rock get through all that machinery.? The good bags were really good and there were enough good bags to hide the less than desirable ones. For the price, yes, but for SCOTTS, really sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep it dry for 24 hours and you will be very satisfied I read these reviews before made mulch purchase. Saw warning that mulch cannot get wet for 24 hours after installation or color will rinse off. Checked weather forecast: no rain. Installed a few bags before nightfall. Next day checked forecast: no rain. Installed many more bags. SURPRISE: Freak thunderstorm that night. Next day the less than one day old spread was 30% faded BUT the two day old spread was still a deep brown. Simple fix: sprinkle thin, new layer over faded mulch and all matches again. The point is: keep the mulch dry for 24 hours and it will perform perfectly. NOTE TO SCOTTS: There is no "keep this dry for 24 hours after installation" warning on any of the 80 bags I purchased. Add this information and you will have much less complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty decent mulch. I have used this mulch multiple times on my customers’ yards after doing ei... Pretty decent mulch. I have used this mulch multiple times on my customers’ yards after doing either garden maintenance or during tree or shrub planting. The quality is very good, but if you need more than 1 yard of mulch this product isn't economical Pros: *If you get it on sale for 5 for $10, it’s a good deal *Keeps its color for awhile *Keeps the weeds down *Nice color and smell Cons: *If you pay full price, it just isn't a good deal unless you only have a small area to cover. I mean, since it’s either somebody's ground up tree or lumberyard byproducts, it doesn’t need to cost over $3.50 per bag. The red color looks great when used around pink Crepe Myrtle trees. I’m not as big of a fan of the black colored mulch, but it’s still good quality, just not my favorite
