Product Overview

Made from a tough co-polymer that features Lay-Flat technology, the Scotts MaxFLEX garden hose provides excellent kink resistance during use. The material resists kinking as you uncoil the hose and pull it behind you around the yard. The exclusive co-polymer makes the hose 30% lighter than similar hoses. This environment-friendly lead-free hose from our Element line will provide you with years of trouble-free and safe performance. The 100 ft. L also ensures that you will be able to comfortably reach each corner of a large lawn, flower bed or garden. The couplings are made of oversized XL crush-proof aluminum that withstands daily use and trampling by heavy feet or even heavier garden equipment. The couplings easily attach to any spigot and feature our innovative Hose Armour technology to prevent binding at the spigot when pulled. Ideal for use in any climate, the co-polymer material makes the Scotts MaxFLEX hose incredibly tough both inside and outside. Superior scuff resistance on the jacket helps to keep the hose looking its best season after season. The Scotts MaxFLEX hose has burst strength of 500 psi, with heavyweight reinforcement at high pressure areas for extra durability and lifelong performance.

  • MaxFLEX hose is made from a new proprietary compound providing excellent kink resistance
  • Extreme flexibility for use in all types of environments
  • Crush proof, heavy duty couplings
  • Drinking water safe, lead-free

Hi Jess, The product is the hose only. Several different types of holders are available through Home Depot. Just ask one of the excellent customer service staff to help you.

MaxFlex 5/8 in. Dia x 100 ft. Heavy Garden Hose is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 209.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aluminum Hose Ends The MaxFLEX garden hose has a pretty candy apply green finish with a bright yellow lay line to help keep it straight and untangled when in use. More importantly the hose body material is of good wall thickness that helps to keep the hose from kinking or folding over on its self. The MaxFLEX weight is similar to that of an economy hose having paper thin thickness. Flexibility is very good when it is warm or in the sun. It does become stiffer when cold water is flowing thorough it, or it is cold, and like most quality water hoses it lays well unlike a coiled up stiff spring. The reason I cannot rate this premium garden hose five out of five stars is due to the aluminum hose ends. Unlike brass, aluminum tends to corrode over time and more so when subject to hard water or salt air environments. I live with 20.5 grains of water hardness near the coast. Living with hard water and aluminum hose ends is possible if connecting the aluminum hose end to a plastic fitting or disconnecting the hose end when not in use. Leaving an aluminum hose end connected to a brass hose bib (two dissimilar metals) can cause the aluminum to weld to the brass hose bib through electrolysis. When this occurs my experience has been that the hose bib must be replaced and the hose or hose end replaced. It is always best to use the shortest garden hose for the job or the size of the area to be covered. When a long hose must be used such as the 100-foot Water Max, a long hose is best stored on a hose reel. A hose reel allows the hose to uncoil without kinking or damage and makes storing it just as dependable and easy. Since this hose is drinking water safe, it is also great for filling a recreational vehicle fresh water tank.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Resolves Kink and Wight Problem with Most Extra Longe Hoses This hose is not near as heavy as I expected. Kink resistance makes it much easier to use. I have numerous groupings of drip irrigation and move the hose between different groups throughout the yard and garden. I immediately replaced my previous hose with the new one because of the improved maneuverability. I was impressed by the hefty source connection fitting and the strong kink guard on the hose. By comparison, the male end connection seemed a bit slighted with the apparent hose to metal overlap around an 1/8th of an inch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent high quality hose After years of replacing 5/8" garden hoses that broke, leaked or would kink easily, I finally found the hose I've been looking for. I need a long hose to reach extreme corners of my property, but with longer length hoses comes kinks and lower water pressure (I was constantly fighting hose kinks). The MaxFLEX hose doesn't kink easily. It lays flat when uncoiled and is much easier to manage that any other garden hose that I've owned. The other really nice feature of the hose is the wide hose coupler that fits nicely in your hand when connecting to faucet; makes it easier to tighten and remove. The connector coupler also has a kink preventer to reduce stress bends at the faucet. Overall, you get what you pay for in garden hoses and this one is well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely well made and strong! Wow! I think this is one of the best hoses made! I was skeptical but once I unrolled it and hooked it up I was amazed at how well made it is. The spigot end is reinforced which prevents the hose from binding when pulled! When you lay it out the lay flat technology prevents kinking. We have a large yard and kinking has destroyed most of our previous hoses! Very strong which helps if you have a spouse who forgets to shut off the spigot regularly! Really strong and well made! Very happy with and highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't get hosed again! Get this hose. So I've bought half a dozen hoses over the last 15 years and have tended to buy those on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Some have performed reasonably well while others have barely lasted a year. A common theme has been poor quality couplings and hoses that kink. I can live with the latter as I can avoid kinking the hose if I pay attention. However, the former drives me nuts with all of the water dripping (or spraying as the case may be) where my hose connect to the house or to another hose. Anyways, I haven't had this hose for long so I can't speak to it's durability but I can speak to the fact that the couplings have worked well in preventing leaks and the hose doesn't easily kink. Per the pictures, the couplings are very solid and feel like they will last a long time.

It has a firm feel with large easy to grip couplings with extra support around the female end to avoid bending and kinking at the spigot. MaxFLEX hose is made from a new proprietary compound providing excellent kink resistance. This hose is Extreme flexibility for use in all types of environments. The manufacturer claims that it is Crush proof, we'll see. It does have heavy duty couplings and is Drinking water safe, as well as lead-free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Hose The Maxflex 5/8 inch diameter Heavy Garden Hose has sturdy fitting at both the inlet and outlet openings. They are much stronger than the fittings on a standard hose from a discount store. The hose itself is sturdy with re-enforced ribbing to withstand pressure for an extended period. Such as forgetting to turn of the faucet and leaving on overnight. The 100 feet length allows me to use it not only in the bac yard but does reach around to the front yard with having to use a separate hose for the front yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Hose This is a regular run-of-the-mill Super High Quality garden hose. There are a lot of high-quality hoses out there and this is one of them. What makes this one different is the part that twists on to the faucet. It is very large with indentations for better grip. I have never seen a consumer use hose with an end like this. It looks like milled brass but it feels like aluminum. I have no doubt the flange will last for a long time and hold its shape given its size and thickness.
