Seed mixture??

What mixture of seed is this? Sun & shade usually contains Kentucky Blue, red fescue & usually a sort of rye for quick germination. I don't see any mention of the mixture?
Asked by: George
it's mostly ground up newspaper from my experience.

PatchMaster 4.75 lb. Sun and Shade Grass Seed Mix is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 619.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It will fill in your bare lawn spots I have a 8 foot area that slopes down from my sidewlk and over the winter the grass died. I raked up the dead grass and rough up the soil. I then put the product on this area and water softly ever day. Even thought it was a slope the product adhered to the soil and never washed out. I started to see small grass blades growing in 10 days. After 4 weeks the area is fully covered with beautiful grass. I have used other products before in other areas but none have worked as well as this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOTS OF PINE TREES!!! HELLO, WHERE HERE IT IS THE END OF APRIL, THIS SPRING IS FLYING BY JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER MONTHS, SO THE BACK OF MY YARD, I HAVE ALOT OF PINE TREES, REALLY PRETTY IN WINTER AND SUMMER, NOT MUCH SUN COME'S THROUGH THEM DUE TO THEIR HEAVY LIMBS, PUT THE PATCH MASTER DOWN AROUND THEM WITH THE NEEDLES ALSO, AND I COULDN'T BELEIVE IT , I HAVE GRASS GROWING IN THE NEEDLES, DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL BE LIKE THAT, BUT IT'S NICE WHILE IT IS, ONCE AGAIN A A+ [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Growth achieved Although dusty to place once fine good growth was achieved and the sheared paper makes for good mulch. So I guess you can say this product is green in using recycled newspapers. The only down side is very dusty to use. But you get frat results and in the end a little dust is a small price to pay also would have liked a little more seeds in the mix but the growth that was achieved was impressive [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stays where yor put it. I followed the directions as listed on the package. After prepping the affected area I applied Patchmaster. Which was very easy to apply. The product was watered and since my lawn has irrigation system it was watered regularly. The results varied which could be attributed to my soil or the spots that were being repaired. I was trying to repair spots caused by our dog's urine. I believe since the product worked better on some spots it must have been my soil quality. On the second attempt to repair the spots that failed I added top soil and Scotts Seed which has started to germinate quickly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had a decent experience with this product when purchased from a local hardware store, so I decided to buy some from Home Depot. Very disappointed with this Home Depot product. Followed soil preparation and watering instructions exactly and no grass at all. I later discovered that Home Depot had sold me last year's product, packaged well over a year ago and with a sell-by date nearly half a year before I bought it. Product was like a brick coming out of the package and had to be carefully broken up. Recommend that you carefully check "sell-by" date on the back before purchasing. I wasted days of work, and have to replace it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patchmaster Sun & Shade Mix I used patchmaster to fill in two large areas of the lawn. Using gloves I spread some topsoil first and then a layer of patchmaster on top. After patting it all down smooth and lightly watered it until soaked. Repeating watering multiple times a day at first and then once a day later for two weeks. The seed came up a little fuller in the one area that had more shade, but both areas filled in very well during the third week. If the direct sun is on the area all day it needs to watered repeatedly so the seeds can germinate. The grass came out great. Looks like I put in sod. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money For years I had thought about using Patchmaster but felt it was out of my price range. I decided to buy 2 bags to use on my lawn and I also had my parents buy 2 bags for theirs. I raked out the dead grass, loosened the soil, added a little soil if needed and spread out the Patchmaster. We watered consistently and 3 weeks later NOTHING grew at my house. At my parents house there were small areas within a larger area that had a little growth but it's maybe 10% of the area. I thought that maybe because my lawn was fertilized 6 weeks earlier it had something to do with it but my parents lawn has not been fertilized in 6 months. This was a complete waste of my time and money.
