Seed mixture??

What mixture of seed is this? Sun & shade usually contains Kentucky Blue, red fescue & usually a sort of rye for quick germination. I don't see any mention of the mixture?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stays where yor put it. I followed the directions as listed on the package. After prepping the affected area I applied Patchmaster. Which was very easy to apply. The product was watered and since my lawn has irrigation system it was watered regularly. The results varied which could be attributed to my soil or the spots that were being repaired. I was trying to repair spots caused by our dog's urine. I believe since the product worked better on some spots it must have been my soil quality. On the second attempt to repair the spots that failed I added top soil and Scotts Seed which has started to germinate quickly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money For years I had thought about using Patchmaster but felt it was out of my price range. I decided to buy 2 bags to use on my lawn and I also had my parents buy 2 bags for theirs. I raked out the dead grass, loosened the soil, added a little soil if needed and spread out the Patchmaster. We watered consistently and 3 weeks later NOTHING grew at my house. At my parents house there were small areas within a larger area that had a little growth but it's maybe 10% of the area. I thought that maybe because my lawn was fertilized 6 weeks earlier it had something to do with it but my parents lawn has not been fertilized in 6 months. This was a complete waste of my time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for fixing bare spots I had a few dead spots in my front lawn so I covered them with Patchmaster. It spreads out really easy but you are best off emptying the bag into a wheel barrel and really breaking it up good before trying to spread it. Any large lumps need to be broken up. Be sure to keep it wet especially if you have to go over it with a mower. There was plenty of rain after I used Patchmaster but the temps were cool so it took a few extra days for the seed to germinate. I would definitely recommend this product since it stays in place, holds moisture and feeds itself then just breaks down with nothing to clean up like you would have to do with straw mulch. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too early to tell I just spread EZ Seed and PatchMaster on several bare spots around some trees and along the edge of my driveway. The EZ Seed was much easier to use. The PatchMaster is basically a block of shredded paper that you have to break up and spread. The EZ Seed is easy to simply shake from the bottle. I broke up the soil and added some topsoil to all of the areas where I spread the seed. I watered it well and have sprinklers set up to water all of the spots regularly. I will provide an update in a few weeks when I (hopefully) see some results. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grow grass in bare spots Our condo Home Owners Association had some really ugly bare spots thanks to an owner dogs staking her dogs in front of her unit. Unfortunately, the area severely detracted from an otherwise lovely lawn. In early spring we raked up the damaged grass, watered and used Scotts® Patchmaster® Sun & Shade Mix. We kept the area watered to prevent it drying out and within a week new growth started to appear. We are now one-month post seeding and are very happy with the results. Dogs now prohibited from using the area. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expected better I was excited to try this product to patch up some spots in my yard. I added new dirt to the spots and then spread the mix as directed on the package. I've used other Scotts patch repair seed and had it work great in the past. Unfortunately, this didn't really work at all for me. I noticed the "mulch" seems to be recycled newspapers, which I thought interesting, but hey, if it worked, I wouldn't care. I watered regularly, did everything that I've done with success in the past. 1, 2, 3 weeks went by with nothing. No noticeable growth. It's now been almost 4 weeks and nothing, so I am scrapping it and putting other Scotts seed down. I don't recommend this product. Go with Scotts EZ Seed.
