Answer:
This is a cool season grass mix, we would not suggest using this in most parts of Arizona. You may want to look into our Turf Builder Bermuda grass seed. It is better suited for hot locations.

Answer:
If you are content with the location, and do not plan on moving out of VA or to another house any time soon, you should plant the seeds now. What's the point of waiting?

Answer:
Snap Pac Sun & Shade grass seed covers: 1400 sf for new lawns, and 2800 sf when used for overseeding. Just for your information Lynn, this is a coold season grass type and not an optimal grass type for Florida.

Answer:
Temperature plays a critical role in seed germination. Soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees for turfgrass seed to germinate. Air temperature must typically be in the 60-80 degree range. The cold will not harm the seeds but the seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Expensive with lack luster result Pretty expensive for result. I haven't seen growth yet on the seed. I like the snap line of products but I wouldn't recommend for seed that can be hand thrown easily. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looked Dead Then Spouted Great! It's been hard to lay grass seed this spring due to all the heavy rain (washing the seed around) but I caught a good week. Tilled up the patches, laid the seed and covered with a light layer of compost. Seemed like nothing was happening for five days or more. Then suddenly I went to check one day and fairly thick green grass had sprouted. Seems to be holding up, too, to the mowing and all the rain. June 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy with the product I was having trouble growing grass in spots in my yard I used this grass seed and now I have plenty of Grass. July 29, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hasn't Worked yet Got the Scott's Snap spreader and the Sun & Shade grass seed for my front yard. It's been 8 days since I applied the seeds. Have watered the lawn regularly and kept it moist. So far no sign of new grass. May 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sun & Shade with watersmart plus After putting down sod, seeds and watered for 3 weeks the seeds are just sitting there and are not growing. All the grass around the area the seeds are at is growing like crazy! Trusted the Scott's products because I use the Turf Builder in the spring and fall! Never thought these new seeds would not work and did not save the receipt! If I did I would have returned them! I live in Massacusetts so maybe it's not the seed for here! Label states that the seed will grow in extreme conditions! Not true! June 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grass is growing - much to my surprise I am not a garden person; I hate being outside with the bugs and dirt. We are selling our house and the side yard had no grass. I decided to order this because it looked easy and you received a free seeder. When I received the product, I read the directions and thought you needed soil or hay to cover the seed. I gave up - until one rainy day I decided I would give this a try. I raked what I could to stir up the dirt (this was a lost cause); went out in the misty rain and seeded. It was supposed to rain that day and the next few days but with my luck it did not rain much at all. When my husband got back from a golfing trip, he watered the seed which had been laying on top of the ground. He watered every day. Much to my surprise three to four days later the grass started to appear. It is still growing. I need a few more bags of seed to fill in the bare spots but the grass really is growing. June 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best! Scotts Snap Sun & Shade Mix seed has never failed me yet : ) I have a Linden Tree that heavily shades a portion of the yard during the summer and fall seasons. The heavy shade can be torture for grass; but with Scotts Sun & Shade I need not worry. Every year the yard around the Linden remains robust! I am very, very satisfied with Scotts!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product helps to easily grow a new lawn I really like the water saving feature and this product helped me to grow a nice front yard for my daughter to play on. The grass is good quality and easily maintained. I am a busy full time mom that also works and I need something that won't be too time consuming. September 30, 2014
