Turf Builder 3 lbs. Pacific Northwest Mix Grass Seed is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Grew after multiply tries. I first bought a bag to patch some sections of my lawn thinking this would fix it but the seeds never grew. At first I thought It was because the seeds were too old so I bought a second bag and tried it for the second time. Once again nothing grew. I bought a third bag and tried watering less, watering more, tried using different type of soil and nothing. I event went ahead and planting some seeds in a pot with garden soil and again nothing grew. I was very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad reviews had me skeptical I am new to the PNW from Arizona. Never had to deal with grass. The grass at our rental was terrible so I decided to experiment with someone else's lawn. So I researched it all. Thatch, aerate, grass length, killing moss (that stuff is terrible), soil conditions, drainage, ideal temperatures, and more. To apply these seeds I completed (the boy scouts in my neighborhood) the thatch and aerate job. Applied about a half inch of dirt and applied seeds based on spreader setting requirements. I made sure the weather forecast for the next week was within the recommended temperature - 60 to 80 degrees. Once on the ground I kept it wet, short watering 2-3 times a day. The lawn is thick and putting my neighbors to shame. Use this seed right and it will do everything promised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well suited for the Northwest. Received this grass seed to test and review. Followed instructions exactly as listed on the package and seeded a 4' X 4' patch that receives morning sun and shade from 10 o'clock thru the rest of the day. It took 15 days for grass to sprout but once it did it rapidly filled in the test plot. The packaging said it should only take 10 days to sprout. The grass color is a nice deep green that will enhance the area it is planted in. Very please with this grass seed. I used no additional fertilizer but followed planting and watering instructions to the letter. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I've been using Scotts products for years but recently moved to the Pacific Northwest so this was my first time trying this particular blend of grass seed. Overall I think the quality of the grass seed is very good and I had very few weeds sprout up. In addition to the grass seed I also used Scotts Turfbuilder Lawn Soil to help the bare areas of my existing lawn hold some moisture and provide extra nutrients to the seedlings. Within 10 days I noticed little green spikes starting to emerge. About 10 days after that I mowed for the first time. After a few more mowings the patches and thin areas were lush and green and had completely blended in with the rest of my lawn. The entire process took about 6 weeks to full maturity. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works really good I was aerating my lawn and decided to try this mix to over seed my lawn seems how I live in the northwest. Was very surprised on how fast after seeding and starter fertilizer that the new grass was growing. I aerate my lawn twice a year due to compact soil we have around the Seattle area. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looking good so far I planted new seed on May 13th, by May 23rd I had several areas that were 2" long and some that were just peeking through the soil. I thatched and aerated my lawn, spread fertilizer, seed and then covered with peat moss. I watered daily unless it rained.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good I live in Bellevue, WA. I planted the grass seeds in early March. It's taking a while for the seeds to germinate, but so far, so good after 7 weeks. I was a bit concerned after not seeing anything after 3 weeks, but it's now working. I am by no means a green thumb. I took a picture at about 5 weeks. After getting rid of most of the moss, I was left with a ton of bald spots. I basically loosened the soil, hand-tossed grass seeds on top, then sprinkled a thin layer of Scott's soil on top. I watered the area lightly every day. Then I added some type of lawn food (not sure which kind) near the third week. In hindsight, I maybe should have laid on more seeds/area. I have no idea if this method would work for all lawns, but I am happy, and it was money well spent, given I didn't know what I was doing. Side note, the seeds smell like coco powder, which was a nice touch. The main downside is that Scott's should not say 5-10 days, since you may not know if this works at all until about 4 weeks into it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
