In reference to Scotts Turf Builder Heat Tolerant Blue Mix Grass Seed, You have to remove as many leaves as possible in order to allow the light and the air to get through to the seedlings. Gently rake the dry leaves from the area. Do not rake the wet leaves. from a newly seeded area. Answer:
If you are overseeding an existing lawn, it will cover 1,750 square feet. If you are seeding a new area, you will get 875 square feet of coverage from a seven pound bag.

Answer:
Hi Mistyvonda, one 7 pound bag will cover 1750 square feet. That is like having an area 40 feet long by 43 feet wide. That equals 1720 square feet. Hope that answered your question.

Answer:
This is a combination of two cool season grass types that will not perform very well in your area. You may want to determine if Bermuda, Bahia, or Centipede grass types will grow in your area. When seeding we generally suggest killing and removing any weeds prior to planting grass seed.

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 14 days later and nothing Worst Scotts product I have ever used. Prepared the soil for a new lawn per Scotts instructions and 14 days later, I have nothing. May 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by One of my worst purchases #1. I followed the product directions very carefully. #2. This is not the first grass seed that I have ever planted. #3. Most all of my other seed usages have been reasonably successful and at least satisfactory. #4. I should have been smart enough to keep the bag and I would have made an attempt to get my money back on this product that is how bad it was. signed - Very Displeased October 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poor Results with this seed mix I purchased a 20lb bag of this seed mix in late April and followed the instructions to a "T" inclusive of watering etc. It is now August and despite "babying" the areas I seeded and over seeded I got very little good grass growing. And now because of the time of year, it just about all crabgrass of varying types! I finally gave up on the watering since I was primarily watering crabgrass! I would not spend the money for this product and I am going to ask for my money back via the "No-Quibble Guarantee". Hopefully the refund process works better than the the product itself! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I had terrible results and probably a 30% germination rate After three weeks of water and care I have a lawn that was prepped for fall seeding grass growing sporadically. All over my lawn are little blue seeds on dirt. There are places where it grew but overall a zero rating from me. Last grass purchase from Scotts. October 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Neighbors Are Jealous Killed our front yard last year and planted this mix. Lawn was so dark green and thick it choked out any weeds. Especially near my neighbor's lawn who likes to mow short so he can mow every 2 to 3 weeks. Neighbors and people who walk by ask my secret. Front looks so good, we are doing the backyard now. Be sure to put starter fertilizer down at the same time! September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks like sod was put down Used this grass seed to do a brand new lawn in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in August 2014. By late fall everyone who visited thought we had put down a sodded lawn. We had pretty decent topsoil, with its fair share of weeds that I sprayed a couple of weeks before seeding, and I then loosened the soil with a box grader before seeding. Applied Starter Fertilizer at the same time as the seed, and covered with straw. The lawn initially had plenty of orchardgrass from seedheads in the straw, but it eventually died or was choked out by the good grass. I was able to keep the seed moist during germination using water we collect from our roof, which I believe greatly contributed to the results. The lawn gets full sun most of the day. I have not applied any additional fertizer the first year as all spring and part of the summer I had to mow the lawn twice a week. With summer heat and less rain we are now mowing about every 6 days. The grass is so thick it is hard to separate it with my fingers and get down to the soil. This is without a doubt the nicest lawn we have ever had in almost 50 years of home ownership. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product did not work for me Did everything as directed and didn't work. Put seed down about three weeks ago and really nothing. August 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very little germination Disappointed... Scotts used to be the best. Not his product. May 19, 2015
