Can you spread this product using a scotts spreader, I don't see any info on this on the labeling.

Asked by: Mark
Generally, the Scotts EZ Seed product is used for patching, rather than for starting a lawn, and is applied by hand. You can use a spreader to apply the product, though. Set the spreader to the highest setting available. Measure the area you wish to apply EZ Seed to and determine how much of the seed is needed to cover it. Put that amount in the spreader. A 10 lb. bag of EZ Seed will cover about 210 sq. feet.

Customer Reviews

Turf Builder EZ 3.75 lb. Bermuda Grass Seed is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 64.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked as expected I live in FL and was having irrigation issues last May, so a lot of my grass dried up dead and wasnt coming back once my irrigation was repaired. I raked out the thatch, spread this seed and watered it like crazy for a month. Some of the seed started sprouting right away, but most of it grew a month or a few months later. By November, all of the dead areas had filled in and are still doing well. The thing with seed is that it will grow when its good and ready to grow... that could be right away or a year later. I think most of the bad reviews are from people who thought they would have instant grass, which isn't always the case. When marketing this product, Scott's should mention that... maybe they would have less 1 star reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked out well! I followed the directions to a "T" and had VERY good results. If you do the up front work and properly prep the soil, apply the seed/mulch combination according to directions and water 2 - 3 times per day for the first week or so, you should get excellent results. I stayed away from a bare seed and went with this product since the seed and mulch are combined in the proper ratio right in the bag. That took a lot of the thinking out of it for me. I had about 1,000 Sq Ft to seed, so I wanted to make sure I only had to do it once. With this product, that is absolutely how it went. A month after seeding, I have a nice thick lawn instead of the bare dirt that was there!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Displeased with the results, or lack thereof Purchased this product with the intent to fill in some bare patches in my lawn. Laid it down as per the instructions, made sure to keep it watered as instructed (hand watering each day to make sure the mulch part of the mixture had the recommended color, indicating proper moisture), even walked my dogs on leashes in the back yard instead of letting them out free, so that I could keep them away from the areas with the seed. Did this for almost 2 weeks, and got two spots with small tufts of growth, maybe a total of 1/2 square ft in area, with no growth whatsoever anywhere else. Since then those tufts have grown into full blades of grass, but no new growth anywhere else that the seed was laid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best grass seed I have ever purchased Scotts EZ seed is by far the best grass home depot sells. It is a little pricey but the results are well worth it. I have seen some negative reviews on here and they either bought expired seed or didnt follow the directions correctly. I had about 200 square feet of dirt and so i put this down and in about 10 days it had started to fill in quite nicely and after a few weeks it was perfect.
