Answer:
I will say, Eventually. I put this out in some bare spots, after putting some soil conditioners out and nothing the first year. I was only wanting temporary coverage till my St Augustine into the area. The next year, up popped the bermuda. It was marginally satisfactory. Perhaps with better soil, it will do better.

Customer Reviews

Turf Builder EZ 3.75 lb. Bermuda Grass Seed is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Really bad product I used this product even after I read reviews on it. There were more bad reviews than there were good but I still tried it out. What a big mistake. The only thing these seeds did was cover my yard in weeds. Absolutely no grass grew even after rigorously watering the yard. Now I have to have my yard torn up and new grass laid out. I would never try this brand again. All it was a bag of weed seeds. This product should be removed from the shelves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great timesaver & great customer service Last week I planted an 8x10 area we lost due to last year's drought. It sprouted in 5-7 days. How easy! I am sure if I end up with a few bare spots it was due to my application. It is so easy to see when it needs watering and when it has enough. It is a bit expensive for larger areas, but worth it in convenience and I am sure, results. Have called customer service twice - very helpful, quick and pleasant people - even on a holiday weekend! I am sold on this company and the product! Great that they are innovative to save us time. THANKYOU. I am such a rookie in a challenging climate - what a relief this is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I expected. I chose this type of product due to a recommendation. However, it grew in about 3 weeks of watering. however, it did not grow as I expected. I had a small area to cover and it grew in specs and spots, so I am not sure what went wrong. Other than it must take a lot of seed to get this type of grass to grow. it grew in about four patches and one patch has started to die or go dormant. Now to evaluate the quality and value, this is tough since my expectations were not met.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did Not Work I had a bare spot about the size of a large pizza and 2 inches deep in my front yard that is thick and lush. The spot appeared after the winter season. I filled the area with red sand back in March when the lawn was dormant. Once temps got above 65 consistently I bought Scotts lawn soil and EZ Seed Bermuda grass. I followed the directions to the letter and after 3 weeks nothing not sprout. A neighbor cleared the area, started over, aerated the spot and re-apply the product. It has been 2 weeks and nothing new, the older grass has started to run and will eventually fill the spot in. But this product did nothing. I bought from Lowes and check the date which was still good. I also bought 4 bags of fescue for my back lawn which is mostly shade. All products are going back. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not one seed germinated Applied Bermudagrass seed 4 different times over 2 month period on 4' x 12' area with bare spots. Last 2 applications were mixed with Scotts potting soil with moisture control to help keep seed moist to assist in germination. Prepared soil before application and watered daily BUT NOT ONE SEED EVER GERMINATED. I have 35 yrs of experience with Scott products and maintaining beautiful lawns and I can say the problem is DEFINITELY THE SEED. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Product! The EZ Seed product is sooo easy to use. It is also the most effective product I have ever used to grow grass in bare areas. In 7 days the grass starts to grow. In 10 days it starts looking good. In 2-3 weeks the grass is growing strong. I used it last year for the first time and it worked wonders. This year I used it in a different area and it has done equally as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from once it starts growing its great! Can't believe all of the negative reviews. I do not have a green thumb at all and this product is fool proof. I was discouraged at first but I tend to like instant gratification. When you start seeing the baby grass after a few weeks it just takes off from there. Has filled in spots nicely and we love the results! The Bermuda grass even took over weeds and is lush and green after less than a month.
