This product works best on small areas. After a week and a half, daily watering, and patience, I finally saw some grass growing.

I have been VERY pleased with the EZ seed! I am in north Florida and used it on a field after I had some hard-pan dirt laid down. Not much would grow on the hard-pan other than weeds. I was worried about erosion and finally came across Scotts EZ seed. It grew on the hard-pan dirt with little to no preparation and today (middle of winter) it still looks good, in fact, somewhat "golf-course-like"! This field was a very difficult situation, since it was hard-pan, but also because I threw down the EZ seed during a six week drought which was then followed by drenching rains and heat. So basically, with extreme conditions, the EZ seed grew! It definitely saved my soil from eroding. I actually use the field as a par 3 golf hole. I think Scott's EZ Seed may be able to grow on the moon... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

We recently moved in to an apartment that has a small yard. Most of the grass was dead and recent spring flooding left us with a big ugly mud pit and barren dirt as the summer wore on. We opted to try the EZ Seed Bermuda grass product in August - most extreme days in Texas. We followed the instructions but also lightly raked the product in after we put it down. The key was diligent watering - we watered at 8:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for the first 2 weeks. It was important to thoroughly saturate, so we opted to hand water for the first weeks with a rain water sprayer. We had grass sprouts covering the yard in 4 days. 3 weeks later and it is all filled in - we are down to watering once or twice daily. Our area of coverage is approximately 400 sq ft. Highly recommend this product, but note you need to water, water, water.

I saw the commercial for this product and decided to purchase. We had a patch of bermuda grass that died due to a small chemical spill on the lawn. We removed the dead grass and followed the directions on the cannister. After 2 weeks, nothing happened so I decided to try again by adding a little soil to the area, 10-10-10 and adding more of the EZ Seed. The 2nd time was the charm. It is not as easy as advertised but it's still better than regular seed. I've done this a few times and the trick is that it will need soil, a 2nd application and fertilizer. It also must be watered daily. It's fun to watch the new grass grow.

Applied Bermudagrass seed 4 different times over 2 month period on 4' x 12' area with bare spots. Last 2 applications were mixed with Scotts potting soil with moisture control to help keep seed moist to assist in germination. Prepared soil before application and watered daily BUT NOT ONE SEED EVER GERMINATED. I have 35 yrs of experience with Scott products and maintaining beautiful lawns and I can say the problem is DEFINITELY THE SEED. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jenny Really bad product
I used this product even after I read reviews on it. There were more bad reviews than there were good but I still tried it out. What a big mistake. The only thing these seeds did was cover my yard in weeds. Absolutely no grass grew even after rigorously watering the yard. Now I have to have my yard torn up and new grass laid out. I would never try this brand again. All it was a bag of weed seeds. This product should be removed from the shelves.

I had a bare spot about the size of a large pizza and 2 inches deep in my front yard that is thick and lush. The spot appeared after the winter season. I filled the area with red sand back in March when the lawn was dormant. Once temps got above 65 consistently I bought Scotts lawn soil and EZ Seed Bermuda grass.
I followed the directions to the letter and after 3 weeks
nothing not sprout. A neighbor cleared the area, started over, aerated the spot and re-apply the product. It has been 2 weeks and nothing new, the older grass has started to run and will eventually fill the spot in. But this product did nothing. I bought from Lowes and check the date which was still good. I also bought 4 bags of fescue for my back lawn which is mostly shade. All products are going back. Very disappointed.
