Rated 2 out of 5 by Only Good For One Small Spot Followed instructions step by step, which were very easy to follow! However, of all the spots we used this on, only one was effective at catching and growing grass. And it was an extremely small spot. We have given it an ample amount of time to give it a chance and see if any other spots improved but sadly and unfortunately, they have not. Not even a single blade. We were hoping it would work right away and felt really hopeful about it because of how it applied. Tall fescue is well-known for its speed in growth and length! As seen in the picture I've provided, the brown is the grass seed mix. So it's easy to see where you dropped the mix, however it's hard to make out which part is actually seed. In the mix is some sort of moss that will hold water. But I am guessing there just wasn't enough seed to really catch the water? We applied it on July 22nd, and as of today, August 6th, nothing has changed! It rained a good number of times over that period, and the spots got plenty of sun as well, but I'm guessing there just wasn't enough seed in the mix. If I had applied it all to only one spot, I wonder if even that would have changed anything. I really wish I could provide better results, but sometimes there is really nothing you can do. So I would try to look for some other product that is strictly seeds, and take that extra time to water them, cover them with mulch, whatever it takes, because I have used this method in the past and it really does work. Rated 4 out of 5 by Worked alright given the circumstances First things first: I didn't know a thing about grass. Well apparently tall fescue isn't a warm weather grass. Oh well. Raked my front lawn then loosened the soil a bit. Then I went ahead and seeded most of the dry patches following up with water until saturated. Lo and behold, little grass seedlings started popping up after a week or two. I guess the slightly cooler weather and daily rain are to thank. The grass isn't overly thick or tall, but given that this is the wrong type of grass for my region, I won't blame the product. My front lawn looks a little better and hopefully it will hold up for a few more months. September 3, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for fill in spots It's a bit pricey but it spreads nicely and covers excellent. Must keep it moist for a few weeks so sprinklers have to be set to keep it moist for awhile or sprouts will not happen and new sprouts will die. I used it on hard soil under a tree and it sprouted just fine. I used it to fill in a spot on the front lawn but I was late getting it started so the grass died in this heat. Probably want to use it in the fall only in central valley California and other mild winter areas. Gives the sprouts time to get deep enough to survive on 3 days a week next year summer watering. Will try it again in fall and see if it works better in the front lawn where I get full sun most of the day. It's still growing under the tree out back. July 4, 2014
