Quite impressed! I had an 8 X 10 ft. bare spot right next to my septic holding tank where I could never grow grass in the past.
I threw down a bit of fresh top soil over this spot, then used a roller to compact it, and finally scratched the surface with a rake before applying this product.
The coverage area stated by Scotts, was pretty accurate, and the fact that it has the starter fertilizer, plus it lets you know when it needs water, and that their added mulch into this product HOLDS water longer..... was a no-brainer.
I had new grass sprouting within 8 days, ever after I missed a day or two of watering!
Prepare your bare soil properly-and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by aroyals Simple to apply and does grow well
We have used both the Turf Builder normal grass seed mix, as well as the pet yellow spot version with very good results. About as simple as they can make it to apply, just open the cap and it has a kind of spout to help disburse the seeds/soil mix. There is a distinct color when you apply it, so it is easy to see when it has been watered enough and when it's ready to be watered again. I'm using it again this spring to bring back our front lawn, I planted it from seed last year but the dogs running over it all winter took a toll and less than half my grass came back. This Turf Builder mix is great for filling in spaces, but definitely too expensive to do a large area or whole lawn. Would highly recommend the pet yellow spot rescue mix as well.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by pjones Easy to grow, just keep wet
Have a lot of trees and just a little direct sun. Dug out the moss
in my back yard and decided to use EZ Seed as a last resort for
new grass. After raking in the EZ Seed, just kept it wet and I got a
beautiful backyard of green grass.

Used this multiple times to patch areas of a newly seeded lawn.
Mine could have been out of date but it was dead when it hit the soil. No sprouting, growth.. Anything.. Tried clear poly-sheeting to raise the temperature and humidity to no avail.
Went back to the old, "good local seed, good soil and peat moss cover method", and everything got back on track.
It's a great idea, but I think it needs to be localized more to specific growing zones. Probably something that a local warehouse store could give a rip about..
