Screen Tight makes a special acrylic panel for winterizing this door. Perhaps HD can special order it.

Answer:
It might be feasible, the door feels sturdy enough to handle it but I'm not sure how you would go about mounting the glass
You can remove the screen and replace it very easily though, I had to do just that when I painted the door.

Answer:
Depending on the thickness of the molding.
The door is barely over 1 inch thick; so long as the molding isn't too thick or the screws you mount it with are too large you should be fine.

I'm concerned that once the hardware is installed, the door width will exceed the allotted amount of space.

Answer:
If your doorway is 30" wide this door should fit nicely. My doorway is also 30", and this door slid right in with no problems at all.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good. This is my first vinyl door, and I chose this one because I was looking for a screen door to fit in an interior doorway - it fit the dimensions and I liked the art nouveau look of it. The vinyl is easy to cut and it accepts screws very easily, it's also relatively light despite it's size, and all-in-all appears to have been constructed well. That said, it isn't quite a rigid as a similar wooden door; upon my initial installation, one of the upper corners was catching on the doorframe, and as a result there was considerable flex in the door when the handle was pulled, much more so than any wooden screen door I've used. After sanding back the offending area, there was no such catching, but the greater structural flexibility of the vinyl as opposed to wood should be noted. Finally, I painted my door maroon, as the standard white it comes in was a little too 'doll house' for my tastes, and the finished paint gives the door a much more sophisticated air about it. The vinyl takes paint pretty well, but it's pretty glossy out of the box, so I would recommend giving it a light sanding before you apply the primer. September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An Absolutely Beautiful Screen Door This door is absolutely beautiful and actually enhances a less than beautiful screened porch. It was easy to install, it hangs appropriately, and it swings open without dragging the floor. May 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Door without Hardware Just a note that if you buy the Screen Tight Vinyl screen doors from the store, they are packaged WITH the hardware. I ordered mine on line and there was NO hardware when it arrived-they want you to BUY it separately. If it COMES FROM THE FACTORY with hardware, I think it is rude that HD takes it out (what, I never saw it in the store?). The door is aVictorian design-I love the door, I just don't like that my hardware is EXTRA when ordered on line. July 6, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful This door added so much charm to my back porch I love it. June 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product will last... Great door and no painting! Screen needed work tho. had to go buy a kit for roller. December 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by product was similiar to one i bought before at the store These 2 door I was supprised did not come with door hardware as the ones purchased at the store. January 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by heavy and sturdy It would be nice if the fact that no hardware is sold with the door was more visable to the buyer. May 22, 2012
