Rated 2.6 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase I ever made at Home Depot Attention Home Depot Buyers, you need to check this product for (no)quality control. Everything about this door extremely poor quality: Wood quality was awful (verticals were pieced together with poorly matched pieces of scrap wood). When I removed the screen (for painting the door) the center horizontal board separated from the verticals. Bottom and top horizontal joints had gaps and didn't line up evenly. Screen frame had scratches and dings. July 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Worked for us Bought this door for our 1st and 2nd house. I used blue painters tape to paint the trim and my husband installed it. It's great for the door for an attached garage, we now get more light and air flow through the house. It's not elaborate quality but it works fine for this purpose. May 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fine low-end screen door The frame of this door is fairly sturdy, and the construction is fair. It is a finger-jointed construction, so it should be used for applications where it would be painted. The pet guard seems sturdy enough. I would pay half-again as much for better quality, but this is usable. I stained the door, but I would not recommend doing so. There are two stickers on the edges that took me ~15 mins to remove, even using "goof off" solvent. The wood near any joint was covered with stray glue (not clear if paint would have covered it, but definitely not good for stain), and the screen and pet guard need to be removed for either painting or staining. Removal and installation involves 20 screws or so. The router edges on the door indicate poor assembly machine maintenance. Be prepared to spend multiple hours getting this product ready to install. If you don't mind doing the prep work, it's not a bad door for $50. I didn't see higher quality options in wood doors, or I would have bought one. May 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I was very disappointed with the quality of construction. Neither the appearance nor installation was noteworthy. I was very disappointed with the quality of construction. The plastic screen was in a separate flimsy metal frame that did not fit properly in the groove routed in the wooden door frame. [The groove seemed more torn out than routed.] One had to be particularly careful removing the screen frame to have access for painting. The use of plastic screen, while suitable for windows, is not appropriate for a door, where its fragility makes damage more likely. This construction will also be difficult to repair. . June 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth the Money The door is cheaply made. If you want it to be "pet" safe, it it not reversible as they advertise...the pet protection ends up on the out side!! As far as the removable screen for painting, good luck getting it back in without damaging it! Of course, you dont know this until you have already painted the door and it can no longer be returned to get your money back! Sounds great, bad execution! Buy the cheaper door and add your own pet protection (chicken wire) or go for a more expensive door! May 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Poor Quality I was very disappointed in the quality. I bought (2) 32" doors & (8) 36" doors. They were not square and the width dimensions were off by as much as 1/4". Several of the glue joints came apart. The mill work were the screens & Pet Guard inserted in the door was awful with many jagged & splintered edges.Thankfully I was NOT using them for screen doors, but panels for my screened in porch or they would have been returned. The online price of $171.00 is a joke. The store price of $49.88 is still way too much. Do Not Waste Your Money! July 31, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Screen Door! I installed this screen door for a friend for added cross ventilation and as a pet guard for her cat. I thoroughly inspected the door for construction and squareness before purchasing it. I had a Home Depot associate rip off 1/2" off the width to fit. The door held up without splintering. The door was installed in an enclosed porch. She is very pleased with it. Thank You Home Depot! May 26, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Buy I bought this door several years ago to put on my bedroom door to keep our dogs and cats out instead of using a pet gate. It is easy to paint and the appearance is good and it looks good from both sides. I didn't want anything fancy, just a door to let the air flow. The door is over five years old now and still looks fine. I am planning to buy two more to use inside for the same purpose. January 5, 2014
