Is the screen panel removable (metal frame) or is the screen splined directly into the door?

Asked by: Will
Tricky to remove but it will come out for painting or repair.

Can I trim this down to 34.75" and have it still sturdy?

Asked by: Anonymous
yes you could but the reality is they are not very sturdily made from the factory so while you can trim it to your size they are not a well built product to begin with

Can I use two of these as French screen doors? What additional hardware would I need?

Can I use two of these as French screen doors? What additional hardware would I need?
Asked by: Alf
I used two for French door screens. One door is locked in place using two surface bolt locks and I installed a screen door knob latch on the other door. I installed a dummy door knob on the locked side.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not put together very well I had to send this door back 3 times! It's made from scrap lumber finger-jointed together from different species of wood and even some blue dyed wood. In all doors I recieved there were chunks of it missing, it was not built square and was warped. I really wanted to stain this door but ended up painting it instead. This would be a nightmare for a do-it-for-yourself project. I would not recommend this door to anyone!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely disappointed... poor joinery (gaps) & milling (tracks) glue on joints & filler used to hide knots (clear pine?) unable to stain

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty but poorly manufactured While this screen door makes a good first impression out of the box, it is poorly constructed with joints that appear to contain no wood glue so they are unable to support the weight of the door itself. Immediately after hanging it, I had to add a metal brace to the top corner closest to the side on which it is hinged because the weight of the door caused it to sag so that it is no longer square and created a gap at the top between the door and the door frame. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a metal framed screen door even though I don't like the appearance of those.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from a total waste of time and a serious waste of money we ordered two screentight doors from H D for our remodeling project o6en 30 meadow and a different model I was hoping that they would be decent serviceable doors...I was totally wrong the 30 inch meadow door came and was warpped and sprung out from top to bottom almost 3/4 of an inch ..no wheres near flat....I had to spend a lot of time and money to try to make what should be a flat piece of wood with a screen in it serviceable...I would never buy this again and urge you to not do so

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The craftmanship of this product was poor. The joints did not match and requires trimming, plaining and sanding before I coul Glad I received a discount. Only now wish it had been more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great door I was leery of ordering a product like this without seeing it first, but it worked out well. The door is well made- sturdy, and arrived quickly. I removed the screen and then the frame (you will have to remove each separately) to paint it before installing, and although it was time consuming, it wasn't as challenging as I thought it would be. I used outdoor grade paint which the wood took beautifully. Now it's installed and looks and functions just as I expected. I am very pleased.
